Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

  • Bright Yellow Blossoms Striped with Pink
  • Pollinator and Songbird Friendly

It is quite obvious that the Sunsation Magnolia (Magnolia x 'Sunsation') got its name from its bright yellow blossoms! But that's not the most distinctive trait that this tree possesses.

The most unique aspect of this eye-catching tree is that its bright yellow blossoms are striped with pink! How cool is that! When its beautiful blossoms open up, it exposes its purple eye from which the pink stripes spill.

This magnolia's bright yellow blossoms bud in the spring and its huge, dark green foliage follows in the summer. But don't let this dramatic tree fool you! The Sunsation Magnolia is a rather small accent tree. It would be the perfect centerpiece to any garden!

Not only is this tree appealing to you and your neighbors, but the pollinators love it too! This tree will be buzzing with busy bees and singing with songbirds all season long!

This tree is rather low maintenance, but does not like winter weather. Applying a thick layer of mulch at the root of the tree is key to optimal growth. It is not resistant to air pollution so avoiding urban areas when planting is ideal.

This magnolia tree is not picky when it comes to its soil, but it prefers acidic soil that is moist and well-drained. Planting this tree in a sunny area with good airflow will give it the perfect environment to thrive!
