Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Three-in-one flower power of light and delicate pastel trio! Create a fabulous backdrop for your summertime get-togethers with this very special flowering shrub. Our growers have combined three of the very best selections from Proven Winners® Chiffon® Series of Rose of Sharon!

Use these colorful shrubs to set the stage for summertime fun. It's easy to decorate your landscape with the colorful high-performance Summer Soirée Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Notwoodthree', H. syriacus 'JWNWOOD4', H. syriacus 'Notwoodtwo').

Rely on carefree Rose of Sharon shrubs! They start blooming in summer, and the blooms last and last. Summer Soirée features an outstanding floral display! You'll love how they start blooming just as most other flowering shrubs are finishing up for the season and keep blooming until fall! Plus you will enjoy a unique single blue flower with a lacy center, a pink single with a lacy center, and a pristine white single with a lacy center.

You'll appreciate the fine-textured, upright growth habit and dark green foliage of these clean and easy tall easy-care shrubs, as well. They are versatile and provide a multi-faceted boost of color for your home or commercial property!

Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 9, these more demure Tropical Hibiscus cousins are just as luscious as they are easy to grow and cold-hardy! Also known as Althea Shrubs, Summer Soirée reaches a distinguished 10-12 feet in height but is almost columnar in how it spreads just 4-6 feet wide! Readily amendable to pruning, you can control the height in the late winter with pruning and even train your shrub into an eye-catching tree form!

Planting and Application:

These "three-in-one" flowering ornamentals will amaze your guests. Use them to create a lovely, private flowering hedge anywhere you have a sunny spot. Savvy party planners know that it's the little details that make an event successful. The same idea goes for a polished landscape!

Dress up your outdoor furnishings with coordinating colors. Choose exterior pillows, tablecloths, candles and napkins in a pretty mix of crisp white, lavender blue and blush pink. Deepen the impact with a "pop" of French blue or magenta pink in your tableware or wine glass charms. Try them anywhere you have a sunny spot. Treat you and your guests to months of bloom! Something largely appreciated by every passing hummingbird, bee, and butterfly!

If you want to start conversations, plant a single specimen shrub at the corner of your foundation planting. Plant a pair flanking either side of your outdoor dining room. Hide the neighbors with a few strategically placed in a pretty mass planting.

These shrubs know how to have a good time. Whether you use one as a spectacular accent shrub, or plant a long, tall "Living Fence" with a series of them as screening along your pool deck or fence line, you'll love their fun look.

Create a paradise for you and your guests. Let them grow into their full height and width to dazzle you year after year. To create a solid screen, plant them four feet apart on center. You'll measure from the center of one to the center of the next.

Add Summer Soirée as a multi-colored backdrop to your mixed border or Rose garden. Or, rely on them for hedging in a side yard. Use them along your street to muffle the sound of traffic. Want fast results? Order the largest size container we have in stock to get a jump-start on your fence. You can also plant a staggered, zigzagging double row that will fill in quickly.

You can even keep them as a "Thriller" in large exterior containers as a blushed, soothing focal point. Keep containers well-watered!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

For the most flowers, be sure to give Rose of Sharon a full sun position. They thrive in at least six hours of direct sunlight. The more sun, the better! Well-drained soil is important! If you see puddles long after a rain event, create a stylish raised garden bed for them. Provide a medium amount of water on a regular basis. Mulch over the tops of the root systems to keep them nice and cool. Just don't let the mulch touch the stems, pull it back about six inches for proper air circulation.

A three-inch layer of arborist mulch over the root systems keeps them happy and cool. Reapply regularly, and it will work to improve the condition of your soil over time. With a graceful form, you won't need to do much pruning. These award-winning, well-behaved varieties also have a reduced seed set. However, if you want to shape them or reduce their size, prune Althea in the late winter or very early spring before it starts to grow. Renewal prune every 3-5 years to maintain vigor.

Tree Form vs. Shrub Form

The details make all the difference in a garden. At Naturehills.com, we understand that little things like what form a plant is can greatly impact how you plan your landscape. So before you buy, don’t forget to check which form you’re getting.

Tree Form:

These are plants that have one stem coming from the ground. Plants can also be considered single stem when lower branches are removed to raise the height of the branching to a more desired height. Sometimes, you will hear a tree form referred to as a single stem.

Shrub Form:

These are bushy plants with many stems and branchings close to the ground. They are referred to as shrubs or bushes and are often shorter than their tree forms.
