Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Norman Spirea (Spiraea japonica 'Norman') is a dwarf and compact Spirea with intense rosy-pink flowers on a background of mint-green foliage! Compact and rounded shrubs, these are such darling neat and tidy forms for both formal and informal garden designs! It displays a raspberry-purple to red fall color that’s long-lasting!
The fantastic spear-like foliage has delightfully toothy edges, creating naturally sheared-looking rounded forms for lovely edging and container use! So versatile and easy to grow, Spirea are garden workhorses by nature and have unfortunately been considered overused. This stigma should not stop you from incorporating these tough plants into your landscape. Instead, modern varieties of Spirea will add instant color and 3-season interest for your enjoyment!
Norman Spirea is attractive to butterflies and pollinators and has no serious disease or insect problems. Hardy throughout USD growing zones 4 through 8, Spirea like Norman grow quickly and bloom profusely all spring. After the bloom is done, the lush dense foliage looks incredibly the rest of the growing season!
Planting and Application:
Since this plant grows only 2-3 feet tall and just as wide, Norman is effective in the border, cottage garden or as a low, informal hedge. Great as facer shrubs to hide the leggy stems of older shrubs in your backdrop and privacy hedges, or to add a pop of color along your home's foundation plantings!
Norman Spirea is perfectly sized for container gardening, planters around your entertainment areas, and in porch pots on your front porch. The small size also makes them ideal for small-space gardening, postage stamp lots, and adding color to established landscapes. Pollinator beds, cottage borders, and even cut flower gardens are ideal for these garden designs and more!
- Clusters Of Rosy Pink Flowers
- Mint-Green Summer Foliage & Purple Fall Color

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Japanese Spirea are easily grown in average, organic well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Preferring moderate moisture and a well-mulched bed, these are easily cared for and require so very little maintenance to keep them looking uniform and tidy. Prune Spiraea immediately after they flower so you don't inadvertently remove next year's blooms!
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Appreciates Mulched Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture Needs - Extra Water in Summer
- Prune Right After Flowering
- Low-Maintenance & Fast Growing
