Have fun in your yard this season with this easy, time-tested designer secret. First, find a small, pretty shrub that works in your yard. Then...use it everywhere! You'll be proud to show off your good taste with ornamental Sonic Bloom® Pearl Reblooming Weigela (Weigela florida SONIC BLOOM 'Bokrasopea'). These compact shrubs have a ton of vivid flower power and put on a fun color-changing display!

They are an exciting breakthrough in Weigela breeding. In fact, the Sonic Bloom® series from Proven Winners® ColorChoice® has the strongest rebloom that we've ever seen in a Weigela!

Sonic Bloom® Pearl trumpet-shaped flowers open pure white with a yellow throat. They change to a soft pink; absolutely covering the plant from top to bottom. The flowers burst out up and down the entire length of each branch, reblooming on both old and new wood. The waves start in late spring and keep coming over and over, well into fall!

Butterflies and Hummingbirds love the nectar! Go ahead and tell your friends about all the colorful varieties you see in your yard. The petals on each tubular flower emerge a fresh white and slowly age to a becoming pink blush. You can't miss the sunshine yellow centers that make the whole thing "pop!"

This carefree shrub performs well and brings an energetic, positive look to the landscape, even in winter. Sonic Bloom® Pearl Reblooming Weigela features an attractive branching structure and bright green, oversized, pointed leaves in season. These handsome shrubs become a mainstay to build your garden design around.

Hardy throughout USDA growing zones from 4 to 8, making them very cold-hardy and easy to grow! Growing to a tidy rounded 4 - 5 feet in height and width, Weigela are resistant to deer browsing and are must-haves for pollinators seeking nectar!

Planting and Application:

Pearl makes a perfect backdrop for a chic, romantic, and very memorable yard. The unforgettable flowers work with so many other plants in Cottage gardens, as backdrops for the Perennial or Rose garden, and as specimen and accent plantings! Tie the whole look of your design together. Plant several Sonic Bloom® Pearl Reblooming Weigelas in a low-maintenance, low-growing hedge to easily define garden areas and foundation plantings in both your front and backyard.

All year long, these compact deciduous shrubs work hard to define your garden. Create screening by planting several shrubs in a row, two and a half feet apart on center. Measure from the center of one to the center of the next for solid fill. Don't be afraid to go two or even three shrubs deep in some areas. Stagger a double row for faster impact.

Consider them "living walls" to create intimate garden rooms. Try creating mixed shrub borders that feature multiple bloom times per growing season - Pair with reblooming Bloomerang® Lilacs, and or Bloom-A-Thon® Azaleas. Pair with taller Yews, Holly, or Laurels shrubs as needed.

Of course, these days, no part of the yard is off-limits for garden design. Why not turn a secluded spot in the sideyard into a creative "getaway" to relax in? Invest in some outdoor seating! Then, pop a few of these special bushes at the back and sides to shield your guests with a blissful sense of privacy. Take back your front yard with a small nook for entertaining. Receive guests and neighbors in gracious style.

Use several of them to create a bold backdrop on the patio. Grow them in the ground, or as "Thrillers" in large outdoor containers.

  • Beautifully Soft, Pale-Pink Flowers Feature Bright Yellow Throat
  • Funnel-Shaped Blooms Attract Butterflies & Hummingbirds
  • Blooms Again & Again - Late Spring to Fall!
  • Stays Petite & Well-Formed
  • Slightly Larger, Pointed Leaves Create Dynamic Impact
  • Cute, Upright, Slightly Arched Branches Look Nice (Even in Winter!)
  • Staples of a Low-Maintenance Landscape - Hedges, Specimens & 3-Season Color

#ProPlantTips for Care:

You'll get the best flowering from your Weigela shrubs in full sun. Give them at least six hours of direct sunlight a day for peak performance, although they'll tolerate some light shade. Plant it in well-drained soil. Top dress with a thick layer of arborist mulch, but please pull the mulch away from touching the stems directly. Give your plants good air circulation, so plant at least six feet away from structures.

Prune to shape after the first round of blooms. Plan a regular schedule of renewal pruning every few years. Keep your shrubs healthy and young with renewal pruning. Simply prune out one or two of the thickest, oldest branches all the way to the ground after the first wave of blooms are done. You never need to deadhead the spent blooms, either! This self-sufficient beauty just keeps on giving without any extra care needed.

  • Happy, Energetic Shrub in Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Cold-Hardy, Easy Care, Low-Maintenance & Deer Resistant
  • Deer Don't Prefer the Taste
