Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Graceful, elegant and sterling, the Silver Swan Euphorbia (Euphorbia characias 'Wilcott') features striking grayish-green & silvery-white variegated foliage that creates a silvery pewter effect from a distance, and incredible contrast against broad-leafed plants and darker foliage!

The mature mound creates a tight clump of long, thin fine-textured foliage that blooms equally variegated greenish-yellow and white flowers in the spring! Typically grown for its foliage, the pollinators and butterflies still zero in on these flowers! Silver Swan looks outstanding among white, yellow and chartreuse foliage and white, purple and pink blossoms.

Silver Swan thrives in hardiness zones 8 through 10 and loves sunny sites with a touch of afternoon shade for relief from the hot sun. These shining perennials can be used as an annual in containers in cooler growing zones.

Planting and Application:

Euphorbia love hot and slightly drier conditions, so they adapt well along roadside ‘hell-strips’ and in rock gardens, and are equally versatile in cottage gardens and perennial borders too! Adding bright filler and graceful texture as borders and eye-catching edging that spills over garden sides. Top a retaining wall with bright foliage to soften edges and create eye-catching ruffles and frills along the base of hardscapes.

Silver Swan is also beautiful spilling over container and planter sides as well! Pot up in a mixed porch pot or around seating area planters for a shining filler and spillers among other plants, but fantastic specimens when planted in groups as the main focal point element.

  • Bright Silvery-Green & White Variegated Foliage
  • Variegated Green, White & Yellow Blooms
  • Dense Mounds
  • Container Gardens, Pollinators, Beds & Borders
  • Annual in Cool Zones, Perennial in Zones 8-10

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Euphorbia love the full sun in cooler growing zones but appreciates part shade in hot climates. Provide regular water at first, but once established, they tolerate drier conditions, but to keep your plant looking its best, provide water in times of need. Easy-care and low-maintenance, provide a mulched bed and prune back in early spring to revitalize growth.

  • Full Sun & Part Shade
  • Enriched, Well-Drained Soil
  • Mulch & Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Prune Early Spring
  • Wear Gloves - The Milky Sap Might Be a Skin Irritant
