Growing Zones 7-11
Shades of Pink™ Viburnum (Viburnum tinus 'Lisarose') is a gorgeous landscaping broadleaf evergreen with delightfully rounded clusters of flowers and glossy dark green leaves! You'll be delighted by the dark pink round buds that pop open into light blush pink blooms! And even more so when these blossom clusters are fluttering in pollinators! Each looks like a lovely nosegay bouquet on its own and carries a mild yet delightful scent!
So compact and densely branched, this type of Laurustinus provides year-round cover and shelter for songbirds and wildlife while providing your landscape with four-season greenery - long after the flowers have faded! But in the autumn, you and your songbirds will adore the clusters of metallic blue-black berries that arrive!
This selection of Viburnum is wonderfully heat-tolerant! Thriving in sunny locations in USDA growing zones 7 through 11, there is little in the way of maintenance or fuss required to keep it looking its best! Plus Laurustinus is deer and pest-resistant and relatively disease free!
Planting and Application:
Shades of Pink™ Viburnum stands out on their own and are readily mixed with other shrubs. It blends in and adds beauty without overpowering both leaf and flower - in fact, those glossy broadleaf evergreen leaves complement other shrubs beautifully! It looks great in all kinds of garden styles, too. It can look formal in a contemporary setting or wild in a rustic setting. It is especially pretty around seating areas and cut flower borders and cottage gardens where you can enjoy the light scent best!
Viburnum are bee and butterfly magnets! Be sure to anchor Pollinator gardens or accent a cottage border with these wonderful shrubs that benefit all! Groupings increase pollination between Laurustinus and provide birds with a safe sheltering buffet. Try pairing Shades of Pink™ with the slightly larger growing Spring Bouquet for a contrasting display of rounded flower clusters and lacy fine-textured blooms! Giving you more fruit per shrub for your enjoyment and to feed migratory and local bird populations!
Dense and compact growth makes it a favorite choice for small foundation plantings, hedges, and screening. Try it as a border in your perennial beds. It makes a great mixed planting in places like the corner of the drive where you want a nice planting, but need to be able to see over it as you leave for the day, and it welcomes you home!

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Viburnum Bushes Fragrant?
The flowers on Shades of Pink™ Viburnum have a mild pleasant scent!
When Do You Prune Flowering Viburnum Shrubs?
Viburnum shrubs bloom on old wood, so it is very important to only prune them immediately after the flowers fade. Should you wish to enjoy the fruit that forms after the flowers fade, then do not prune, instead remove one-third of the oldest, fattest stems that are no longer as vigorous. Pruning them out at the ground level. This leaves fruit for birds and winter interest and increases overall plant vigor while reducing the size of your shrub.
Do Viburnums Like Full Sun or Shade? What is the Best Location for Viburnum?
Viburnums in general need full sun for the most fruit and flowers, but also do well in partial shade and afternoon shade. Highly adaptable, they enjoy mulched, enriched, well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. They need regular moisture while young, but once established will only need supplemental moisture during extreme heat and drought.
Does Shades of Pink™ Hardy Viburnum Produce Fruit?
Shades of Pink™ Viburnum has fruit that matures to a deep blue in the fall.
Does Viburnum Spread? How tall does Shades of Pink™ Viburnum get?
Shades of Pink™ Viburnum can form suckers at the base of the plant, but these can be removed when pruning after flowering or mowed down if you do not wish them to spread. Not invasive, these plants will politely form tidy thickets over time when allowed. Shades of Pink™ Viburnum can grow 4-6 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide in optimal conditions.
Do Viburnum Shrubs Lose Their Leaves in Winter?
In mild winter climates, Shades of Pink™ Viburnum can remain semi-evergreen to be fully evergreen.
