Red foliage and pink flowers make a striking combo! The Sunsparkler® Cherry Tart Sedum (Sedum 'Cherry Tart') has a wonderful combination of cherry red foliage and deep-pink flowers. Try mixing it in with fine grasses or hardy groundcovers. It is attractive to bees and butterflies and definitely animates the garden. The foliage and flowers add color in generally challenging garden spots.

The dainty star-shaped flowers are the most alluring bright pink and butterflies and bumblebees will be drawn in all summer until autumn. The rosy frosted soft green leaves create succulent mats that creep and ramble in tight low-growing mounds throughout the sun garden!

Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 9, Cherry Tart Stonecrop are a Creeping Sedum variety that only grows 6 inches tall when in bloom but can spread wide at 12-18 inches. Even when going dormant the flower heads look great in the winter garden with snow or ice frosting them. Birds arrive to pluck seeds for a fall snack, and you can use the dried blooms in your winter crafts!

Planting and Application:

Sedums, also known as Stonecrop, are a group of plants that are indispensable perennials for any garden! Tough, hardy, and succulent looking, they add interest to your garden for more than 6 months from early summer until well into the winter months!

Sunsparkler® Sedum Chery Tart is a fine single specimen plant, but for real impact plant them in groups of threes and fives and watch them spread! Ideal for use in Cottage, Perennial, and Pollinator Gardens, but also for more utilitarian uses such as the hell strip along roadsides, sidewalks, and driveways!

These hardy little gems are especially good for use on hot sunny hillsides and hard-to-mow slopes to slow erosion and rainwater, spilling over the tops of retaining walls, and brightening Xeric locations such as Rock Gardens and the mailbox garden!

Cherry Tart creates lovely filler and spillers in pots and planters on the sun-drenched deck or poolside container garden! Brighten up the porch or patio with starry raspberry-pink blooms!

Creeping Sedum are useful in Cottage and Perennial borders as weed-blocking living mulch, and as edging along garden pathways and walkways. Pollinator gardens and Xeric locations like Rock Garden, tucked into rock walls, and Crevice Gardens, or like the hell strip along the road are also perfect for these salt, heat, and drought-resistant plants!

  • Starry Bright Raspberry Pink Blossoms
  • Soft Green Waxy Succulent Foliage With A Rosy Tint
  • Butterflies & Bees Love Them!
  • Low-Growing Mat-Forming Creeping Sedum
  • Edging, Groupings, En Masse, Specimens & Container Thrillers

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Easy to grow in full sun to part shade, but for the best color, the most flowers, and the strongest most compact growth - you need to plant your Cherry Tart in at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Sedum needs to be planted in a well-drained location for them to do their best. This perennial will tolerate most soil types, even thriving in poor soils, and is very drought-resistant once established. Add a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch around the root zone to keep more moisture consistency in the soil. It's easy to do a quick cleanup of this low-maintenance plant in the early spring - just cut the dried stems down to the ground.

  • Sun-Loving Hardy Succulent
  • Thrives in Almost Any Well-Drained Soil - Poor Soil Tolerant
  • Regular Moisture At First - Drought Tolerant Once Established
  • Prune Down Early Spring
  • Low-Maintenance & Easy to Grow

Super hardy and astonishingly colorful, you can't go wrong with these SunSparkler® Cherry Tart Sedum in your garden! Order yours from Nature Hills today.
