Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Growing Zones
Imagine having a Hawaiian landscape in your own backyard! Get the showy colors of the island in a tall, space-saving perennial bulb when you order the Seashore Gladiolus (Gladiolus x hortulanus 'Seashore')! Big flouncy, full, and loosely-ruffled petals in the most eye-catching violet and hot pink, each of the blooms lining Seashores tall stems are splashed in bright, bold yellow!
Seashore Gladiolus is an exotic part on a stem! Butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds will not be able to resist their allure and you won't resist tucking one behind your ear! Remember, in Hawaiian culture, if you are to wear a flower behind your left ear, you are married and/or unavailable. But wearing a flower on the right side signifies the opposite!
The enormous 3-4 foot tall spires are packed with extra large flowers along the entire stem, each opening gradually from the bottom to the top! This gives you a long bloom time for weeks each summer, and plenty of showy colors to enjoy in vase arrangements! The sword-like green leaves that frame these tall blooms add to their vertical effect beautifully!
Landscape Application:
Seashore Gladiolus are perfect for small and large gardens and displays! The tall wands add summer backdrops and pops of color when used as groupings! Line pathways or accent a weary foundation border or evergreen hedge with hot pink and yellow tropical-looking blooms!
Gladiolus are summer-flowering corms, and are reliable perennials but need to be lifted in the fall in colder growing zones. Try planting waves of corms 2 weeks apart to extend your bloom time and give you plenty of flowers for bees and bouquets!
Any garden becomes an exotic cutting garden and pollinator border! Mix these hot beauties with Canna Lily or among your Hibiscus for a poolside seating area display! Seashore Gladiolus is absolutely eye-catching for mailbox plantings, front porch urns as thrillers, or adding bursts of juicy color among landscaping beds and borders as hot seasonal color!
- High-Impact Magenta/Violet & Bold Yellow Blooms
- Huge Flowers With Large, Ruffled Flouncy Petals
- Upright Sword-Shaped Green Foliage
- Long-Lasting Bloom Time
- Fantastic Cut Flowers & Pollinator-Friendly
- Specimens & Groupings, Container Thrillers & Focal Points
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Gladiolus are strongest in full sun in cooler growing zones but appreciate afternoon shade in hot growing zones. Any well-drained soil location works great. These bulbs do appreciate moderate yet regular moisture access and mulched beds.
Plant these corms in the spring about 6-8 inches deep. Groupings and rows have the biggest effect and impact on your garden, so plant your corms pointy side up about 5-6 inches apart.
Stake your flower wands unless you plant your Glads in a location protected from the wind. Deadhead as soon as the last flower fades but keep the greenery to make food for the bulb until they turn yellow.
In zones 1 through 7, lift your corms as you would Canna or Dahlias, and store them for the winter in a cool, dry location.
- Full Sun & Afternoon Shade In Hot Climates
- Moderate Moisture Needs
- Organic Well-Drained Soil
- Deadhead After Blooms Fade & Prune or Dig in Fall
- Spring-Planted Summer-Flowering Corm
- Deer & Rabbit Resistant
