Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Snowy white concentric flowers, the Sea Foam Camellia (Camellia japonica 'Sea Foam') is a divine winter-flowering broadleaf evergreen shrub! The oval form fills out in dark green glossy foliage that becomes the perfect backdrop for the elegantly cupped, double petals of the flowers!

The mid-sized to large flowers are a pollinators favorite, especially because of their very early bloom time! This Japanese hybrid has a long bloom time, allowing southern gardeners plenty of time to enjoy these symmetrical flowers! Pick a few and float them in a bubble bowl or shallow dish of water to see the inward-curled petals that add a unique texture to the pure white blooms.

Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 7-10, these shrubs can grow up to 8-12 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide, but you can prune Sea Foam shorter if needed. These are fantastic shade garden shrubs, but tolerate heat and humidity beautifully!

Planting and Application:

Camellias are the pinnacles of the shaded garden and understory with their year-round shade-tolerant foliage! Either use Sea Foam as a pretty specimen plant, either limbed up or left with its branches growing all the way to the ground. Add to your foundation hedge, as a naturally shaped or sheared focal point, or as a corner softening accent.

When used in groupings and rows, Camellias like Sea Foam become radiant backdrops, privacy hedges, and property divisions around your Moon Gardens, Rose Gardens, and beneath the dappled canopy around your porch, patio, or pool side seating!

  • Pure White Flowers With Curled Petals
  • Concentric Symmetrical Blooms In Late Winter Til Early Spring
  • Dark Green Rich Broadleaf Evergreen Foliage
  • Upright Oval Form
  • Gorgeous Specimens, Borders, Backdrops & Privacy Hedges

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Camellias do best in partial sun to full shade locations, growing best in acidic rich soil with regular moisture requirements. Only needing a bit of extra care when planting, include Nature Hills Root Booster and a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch over the soil surface to hold in moisture and enrich the soil.

It is best to prune these shrubs only immediately after flowering so you don't inadvertently remove next year's flowering display! Provide an acid-loving shrub fertilizer once a year. Camellia shrubs are relatively deer-resistant. These shrubs are also pollution resistant and do great in urban areas!

  • Full Shade & Partial Shade
  • Well-Drained Slightly Acidic Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Prune After Flowering
  • Deer-Resistant

Angelic and divine, the creamy white blossoms of the Sea Foam Camellia will elevate the shady areas of your landscape beautifully! Now available at NatureHills.com today!
