The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Growing Zones 7-9
The Dwarf Meadow Sage, Mystic Spires Salvia (Salvia x 'Balsalmisp') is a magical perennial with dark green foliage that forms dense mounds of aromatic beauty! Growing into a compact, well-branched plant, this free-flowering Salvia will be covered with royal purplish- true blue flowers all season long!
Growing up to two feet in height when in bloom, these flowering power-houses pump out the vertical spires lined in deep purple-blue florets from summer until autumn, sometimes until frost. The enormous blooms stand upright from the mounds of dark green for an incredible show! Snip a few for bouquets, but leave most of these flowers for your visiting pollinators and Hummingbirds!
Hardy throughout the hot, sunny, and humid USDA growing zones 7 to 9, there is little this flower factory can't handle! Once established, Salvia are wonderfully drought tolerant and low-water usage plants! Not to mention luxuriously easy to grow and fast-growing thanks to their Mint family relations!
Planting and Application:
Mystic Spires fits perfectly in your backyard wildlife habitats and wildflower gardens, attracting butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds galore! Salvias are among the easiest and showiest of flowers for the garden. Don't worry about planting anywhere in the sun, because deer and rabbits seldom bother these perennials!
You will love the results when mixing Mystic Spires with other colorful sun-loving perennials like purple Coneflowers and hot pink Summer Phlox, or yellows like Black-Eyed Susan and Daylily. Reds, blues, and purples are magical when combined with Mystic Spires! Add to a dark foliage garden, or add contrast to Rock Gardens, mixed perennial borders, Cut Flower gardens, and Cottage gardens alike! The fragrant foliage is also a must-have for Sensory gardens and around your Victory garden to bring in the pollinators!
You will not just want one gorgeous Mystic Spires plant. Instead, plant in groups of three or five! If you place the plants so they form a triangle or a sweep, the Mystic Spires Perennial Sage will grow together to make one clump of amazing color!
Go big with en masse plantings of these low-maintenance garden gems and fill those trickier areas around your landscape with deep hues, like the sidewalk or hell strip along the road, or in rows along your driveway, as edging along the fronts of garden beds, or lining a pathway! This beautiful blue will create a stunning bright ribbon that will be the envy of all who see it!
Space-saving enough for even courtyards, container gardens, and balcony gardeners to enjoy! A lovely upright thriller and filler, your sunny seating areas, patios, porches, and poolside planters will shine in the sun!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Salvia are wonderfully carefree and perfect for the inexperienced or busy gardener! Grow these hardy perennials in full sun for the most blooms and the strongest growth. Salvia need very well-drained soil and moderate moisture, becoming xeric once established. Plant with Nature Hills Root Booster and top-dress the area with 3-4 inches of arborist mulch for insulation, moisture retention, and to block weeds.
Deadhead Salvia for frequent rebloom until frost. If your plant becomes leggy, cut back plants by half in mid-summer and prune back in the early spring before new growth forms for a clean, even flush of growth. These perennials appreciate being divided every 3-5 years to maintain their growing vigor.
- Humidity & Heat Tolerant - Full Sun Perennials
- Needs Well-Drained Soils
- Drought Resistant Once Established
