Dreamy clouds of white in the spring! The Royal White Redbud Tree (Cercis canadensis 'Royal White') is a small ornamental tree or large shrub that puts on a stunning spring display! Not only is the Royal White a low-maintenance tree, but it blooms earlier and with more profuse and larger flowers than other white Redbuds!
You'll be amazed by the staggering number of blooms that blanket your Redbud in the spring. Prolific clusters of pristine white, pea-shaped flowers seem to encase the bare branches in spectacular color! Early-emerging pollinators will stop by for a visit and sip nectar, grateful for the feast the Royal White provides! Go ahead and snip a few branches to bring indoors or try forcing branches earlier in the winter for a burst of color indoors!
In the summer the beauty of your Redbud becomes apparent. Heart-shaped leaves emerge with a unique bronze hue, later changing to green. Your Redbud's leaves will progress to a lovely blue-green until spicing up your autumn landscape with a lively yellow! As an added attraction in the fall, your Redbud will gift you area wildlife with a tasty treat inside the 4-inch peapod-type casings. Offering added interest in the fall and winter months!
Landscape Application:
Royal White, like other Redbuds, offers four seasons of interest for your garden! From spring's flowers to summer's gorgeous foliage, fall's color, and winter's zig-zag-shaped branching - the Redbud tree has it all!
This tree can be kept in its shrubby form with branches to the ground to provide screening and cover! Plant several as a naturalized border, in groupings near a tree line, or in a woodland setting where they won't mind a touch of shade from their larger neighbors. A row along your property line will add definition and some privacy that is both low-maintenance and showy!
Keep these trees as multi-trunked specimens by removing the lower third to half of the branches from the main trunks to create a pretty accent! You can even train young trees into single-stemmed ornamentals by removing all but a single main leader. Try planting a single Royal White near your home's entrance as an elegant welcome to guests or plant yours on a raised berm as a prominent focal point!
A row of these right-sized ornamentals is perfect for lining your driveway or adding a touch of shade to the back seating areas and patios! Bringing in birds and butterflies galore!

- Blue-Green Summer Foliage & Yellow Fall Color

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Redbuds are native to the US and Royal White retains this adaptability and hardiness! This cultivar thrives throughout USDA planting zones 5 to 9, these trees can grow 20 - 30 feet in height and can feature a spread of 15 - 25 feet. You can trim yours smaller to suit your needs with a few snips in the spring as soon as the flowers have finished putting on their show!
Plant your tree in a well-drained location with full sun to a touch of partial shade/afternoon shade if you live in a hotter climate. Provide new trees with regular moisture access and a 3-4 inch deep layer of arborist mulch. Fertilize each spring with a flowering tree formula. Once established, your tree will only need supplemental moisture during extreme heat and drought conditions.
Royal White a relatively carefree tree and tolerant of a variety of conditions, seldom bothered by deer, and is very disease and pest-resistant.

Single Stem, Multi Stem, Shrub Form, Oh My!
Before you buy, make sure you know what you’re getting! Single stem, multi stem and shrub forms are different so read a bit about which we’re currently offering below.
Single Stem:
These are plants that have one stem coming from the ground. Plants can also be considered single-stem when lower branches are removed to raise the height of the branching. Sometimes, you will hear a single stem referred to as Tree Form.
Multi Stem:
These are plants with 2 or more stems planted together in the ground in close proximity to form a clump. There are times multi-stems are formed by a tree that branches at the soil line with more than one main stem.
Shrub Form:
These are bushy plants with many stems and branches close to the ground. They are referred to as shrubs or bushes and are often shorter than their tree forms.
