Go big and bold with the showy Chrysler Imperial Hybrid Tea Rose (Rosa 'Chrysler Imperial') from NatureHills.com! This sultry superstar started turning heads and winning hearts in the 1950s. We sell out of our limited inventory every year! That's because this classic Rose delivers five-inch wide, fully double blooms packed with up to 50 velvety red petals!
The long, pointed, tightly-closed buds look great; and the high-centered, dark red cut flowers last a long time in a vase. If you want Roses through the season...you simply can't go wrong with the award-winning Chrysler Imperial. Chrysler Imperial Rose features a wonderful fragrance. Some call it citrus, but we think it's closer to a heavenly old-fashioned damask Rose scent. The butterflies and bees (and you!) will get lost in its scent either way!
Enjoy a very lavish presentation in midsummer. You'll be excited to see a second flush later in the season. Strong canes won't bend under the heavy weight of these globular, opulent Chrysler Imperial blooms. Clean, healthy foliage provides a marvelous counterbalance to their ornate charm. Blooming profusely until mid-season, Chrysler Imperial Rose repays all the compliments it receives with a second smaller flush of encore blooms. End your season with a colorful flourish!
Frankly, it's better economics to buy and grow your own Hybrid Tea Rose bush than waste money on a single bouquet. Get many seasons of flowers to cut and enjoy indoors, instead! Imagine growing the legacy of 70 years of amazing blooms in your own yard. This tough, compact shrub takes the heat like a champion.
Planting and Application:
Don't miss this incredible Rose for your garden! They'll even perform beautifully in oversized garden containers! Decorate your patio with its vivid color. Mass them in a new mulched bed to create a high-impact modern focal point. Expand that spacing to five or more feet apart, if you want a sleek, modern look. Try a mix of in-ground Roses with container-grown Roses for a customized approach.
Make your neighborhood happy with a brilliant hedge of Chrysler Imperial Rose bushes. Fully double, perfectly formed blooms are huge with plenty of velvety crimson-red petals. Place them front and center to accent a foundation planting. For the stems to touch in a hedge, space them at least three feet apart "on center". You'll measure from the center of one to the center of the next. Growing 4-6 feet in height, this is a fantastic backdrop, or hedge for privacy, and for creating outdoor rooms!
Plant them near walkways or doors, so you can enjoy a wonderful perfumed entryway with the old-fashioned Rose scent. Chrysler Imperial is a restrained and elegant Rose shrub that is perfect for the formal Rose garden. Add to your special "Best of the Best" collection.
Make a dramatic landscape that fills your soul with these stirring blooms. Style them as you like but trust us, Chrysler Imperial will fit right in! Pair them with the most romantic soft pink Roses we have in stock. Or, try them with a mix of purple Roses. This dynamic selection will certainly draw all eyes. Maximize the splash by planting several Chrysler Imperial bushes together.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Give Hybrid Tea Roses the best start with ideal site selection, air circulation and full sun for best results. Eliminate susceptibility to mildew by choosing the right planting site. Roses can happily manage in all-day sun! Morning sun is helpful to dry off the leaves, but at least six hours of sun a day is important. Chrysler Imperial Rose is a perfect choice for warm, dry climates USDA growing zones 5 through 10 and are happiest in hot temperatures with plenty of sunshine!
Easy to grow, simply plant in well-drained soil, or raise them up in a bed to improve drainage. Dig your planting hole twice as wide as the roots, but no deeper. Keep the soil level the same as we have them grown in at the nursery. Rose roots don't tolerate standing water. Don't forget to add a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch.
Water Roses on a consistent schedule, especially container-grown plants. Add a three-inch layer of mulch around your plant, and pull it back away from touching the canes. This hungry beauty needs specialty Rose fertilizer. Follow the label instructions for application rates and timing. Add Nature Hills Root Booster to the planting hole as a symbiotic formula with mycorrhizal fungus and other beneficial ingredients that never stops working to support your Rose.
In fall, bag and remove all leaf litter. In colder zones below 7 should be mounded with 8-12 inches of mulch in late fall for best overwintering. Always wait to prune Roses until early spring when you pull the mulch away. At that time, prune each of the Rose canes down to 6 - 8 inches at a 45-degree angle just above a nice, fat bud.
