Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

The Ronsdorfer Beauty Creeping Phlox (Phlox sublata 'Ronsdorfer Beauty') is a super hardy, Creeping Phlox that becomes completely festooned in pinkish- lavender flowers from mid to late spring! Featuring heart-shaped petals and a darker pink ring around the eye of each tiny little blossom, the sheer number and clear pink hue add incredible beauty to your landscape!

Creeping Phlox is fragrant and attracts many bees and butterflies in search of a sweet treat. The dense mats of dark green grassy foliage add their color as greenery all summer and into autumn, blocking weeds and doubling as living mulch.

Ronsdorfer Beauty is a hardy and incredibly cold-tolerant perennial that handles growing zones 2 through 8, adapting to a mind-boggling range of climates and conditions. Waterwise once established and not often bothered by deer, these are low-growing and easy-care plants for widespread use throughout almost any landscape.

Planting and Application:

Ronsdorfer Beauty looks darling rambling around in front of larger shrubs and perennials as facer plants or spilling over garden sides as edging. Ideal groundcovers that spread to about 12-14 inches but only 4-6 inches high, it won’t interfere with other plant roots, only highlight and enliven the colors of your landscape! Plant around spring bulbs, providing summer shade for them once summers heat kicks in.

Creeping Phlox are perfect for rock gardens, before rock walls or softening the tops and tiers of retaining walls as mat-forming accents. They love hot, well-drained pathways or in mass plantings on hillsides where their roots do a fantastic job with erosion control. Their size and color make Ronsdorfer a lovely spiller in containers and planters!

  • Bright Pinkish-Purple Blossoms
  • Dense, Low-Growing Mats of Green Foliage
  • Fragrant & Attracts Pollinators
  • Very Cold Hardy & Adaptable
  • Groundcover, Edging, Spillers & Living Mulch

#ProPlantTips for Care:

  • Moderate Consistent Moisture - Low Once Established
  • Hardy Growing Zones 2-8

Creeping Phlox Frequently Asked Questions

Does Creeping Phlox spread?

Most Garden Phlox do spread some but politely so - not getting into trouble and not jumping their borders. Should the clumps become too large you can easily divide them.

Should your deadhead Creeping Phlox?

Deadheading Carpet Phlox helps prevent some varieties from self-seeding and encourages a rebloom. Shear or prune immediately after flowering for a rebloom later on.

Where is the best place to plant Phlox?

Phlox needs full sun, and well-drained enriched soil with good air circulation for best results. Mulch their beds and fertilize them each spring.

What happens to Phlox in the winter?

Phlox are herbaceous perennials that will lose their leaves and stems after frost and die back to the ground. In spring, they regrow from their root systems anew! However, Creeping Phlox can remain semi to fully evergreen in mild winters and warm growing zones.
