Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Get ready to dance to the Latin beat of the Rio Samba™ Hybrid Tea Rose Bush (Rosa RIO SAMBA 'JACrite') and its tropical sunset palette! Set the stage in your garden with these enormous 5-inch blooms! Erupting onto the summer scene with long red buds that burst open into vibrant bi-color Roses! Featuring pinks and reds that linger on the petal edges while the center is a glowing golden yellow!
High-centered and filled with perfectly formed petals, Rio Samba™ Rose glows with the exotic sunset colors your garden needs to create a fantastic dinner party setting indoors or out! Highlighted by dramatic dark-green foliage, the tall, narrow, and highly branched shrub grows into an almost columnar look! Smothered in profuse buds, this Hybrid Tea Rose readily tucks into all-sized gardens!
Butterflies and bees adore the vanilla and citrusy scent, as will you when you snip the long stems to bring indoors for bouquets and sweet-smelling floral arrangements! The red edges feather into a glowing sunset yellow. Often in single blossoms or in small clusters, you'll have a variety of bloom sizes and lengths to enjoy in your vases. Roses are beautiful additions to any garden and perfect as gifts as well! For the cost of a floral bouquet, you can give someone Roses for years! Birthdays, celebrations, and Anniversaries, the occasion is up to you, but a Rio Samba™ Rose bush is sure to make it special!
Host friends around the fire pit while these blooms scent the evening air, or bring armloads indoors to perfume your brunch table with brilliantly colored flowers! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 7 to 10, Rio Samba™ are also heat and humidity tolerant.
Planting and Application:
Rio Samba™ Hybrid Tea Roses are tall, and narrow growing and have a world of possibilities within the garden! The best use for these space-saving plants is as hedging, property definition and barrier plantings! Tall enough to provide screening and privacy, you can plant these around your seating areas to create outdoor rooms of vibrant Roses.
Create a hedgerow to separate your property from the neighbors, while also filling your landscape (and theirs) with fiery blooms and lush foliage too! The thorns also create a good barrier that will have anyone think twice about crossing! Highlight other plants with the dramatic greenery by planting rows of these lovely shrubs behind your perennial beds and mixed-shrub borders.
These Tea Roses of course look amazing when planted as specimen plants and focal points throughout any part of your landscape! Back of the border plantings, accents at the corners of your home's foundation, or in large planters to accent your home's entry. Stand a pair of sentries at the entrance to your driveway or a garden path.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Roses thrive in the full sun, preferring the morning sun to dry the leaves of dew. Rio Samba™ blooms from late spring until fall chill arrives in the air. Plant your shrub into very highly enriched, organic soil that is well-drained and does not let water pool. Tolerating most kinds of soil types, mulch generously to help maintain better moisture levels in the soil so you'll water less! Mulch also protects the roots from both heat and cold. Growing Hybrid Tea Roses in zones colder than zone 7 should be mounded with 8-12 inches of mulch in late fall after the frost killed the leaves for best overwintering.
Provide ample, consistent moisture throughout the growing season for best results. Fertilize 2 - 3 times a year and deadhead spent blooms to keep your shrub blooming until frost. Prune in early spring to give the entire plant a fresh burst of new growth. Prune in early spring with an angled cut above thick buds. Read all you need about pruning Roses, winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses in spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
