This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Gorgeous foliage color and shining brilliance, the Purple Diamond® Fringe Flower (Loropetalum chinense 'Shang-hi') brings big Loropetalum color in a perfectly-sized shrub that won't swallow your house like other Fringe Flowers might! It never fades in the sun and heat, and even kicks it up a notch when the hot-pink pom pom flowers appear in the spring.
Butterflies, bees, and Hummingbirds adore these fragrant, nectar-rich blooms! They will rebloom on and off throughout the summer, too. You'll want to plant these unique shrubs where you and your garden guests can examine the unique flowers up close and smell their subtle fragrance!
Fantastic broad-leaved evergreen shrubs throughout USDA hardiness zones 7 to 10, sometimes these woody flowering ornamentals may have deciduous or semi-evergreen tendencies in cold snaps and harsh winters. Growing 4-5 feet in height and width, these rounded neat and tidy, densely-branched flowering bushes are vibrant and long-lived garden gems!
Planting and Application:
Purple Diamond® Chinese Fringe Flower is sure to be a standout in your garden. Plant it where you can enjoy it! This burgundy-leaved evergreen is a perfect foundation plant, low-maintenance hedge or back-of-the-border beauty. It makes a striking screening plant along a fence when you plant several closely so they grow together!
Purple Diamond® is one of those plants that is beautiful on its own but really makes neighboring plants pop! Try it with chartreuse-leaved plants in the sunny border or with variegated-leaved plants in dappled shade. Either as a dramatic backdrop or brilliant edging, a row of these space saving shrubs along a pathway or driveway is something spectacular!
Use Purple Diamond® in your favorite large containers flanking a doorway or welcoming you to through the garden entrance. It is especially intriguing when the small but mighty flowers bloom in the spring and are covered in butterflies! Plant a few in the Cottage garden or mixed-shrub hedge for year long color, or throughout the Pollinator border!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Sometimes known as Fringeflower or Chinese Fringe Flower, these easy-going shrubs do best in full sun and have the most color and flowers, but they can also handle some partial shade. Plant in acidic, well-drained soil with regular moisture access. If you suspect poor drainage, plant your Loropetalum in a raised bed or berm. Provide a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch and regular acid-loving fertilizer.
Loropetalum blooms on old wood, so wait until after that first flush of flowers before picking up the shears. You can prune them back to conform to any landscape setting or size need. If you plan ahead for their mature height and spread, you may never have to prune them at all! Renewal pruning is recommended every 3-5 years to maintain the vigor of these long-lived plants.
- Full Sun For Best Color & Partial Shade Tolerant
- Slightly Acidic Well-Drained Soil
- Regular Moderate Moisture Needs
- Blooms On Old Wood - Prune After Flowering
- Great Disease & Pest Resistance
- Deer Seldom Bother These Shrubs
This diamond isn't 'in-the-rough' at all! Once you plant this pretty Purple Diamond® Fringe Flower in your garden, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Order yours at Nature Hills as soon as you see it available!
