Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Fast Growing, Graceful Shade Tree
Weeping Willows are like the ballet dancers of the tree world. They are graceful and refined and move beautifully. They conjure up the most romantic scenes from movies and paintings. They make you happy just by looking at them!
The Prairie Cascade Weeping Willow Tree (Salix 'Prairie Cascade') is a stellar form of Willow. It starts growing strong and straight like a soldier, but as it ages it begins to form the 'weeping' habit you want in a Willow. The fine texture of the leaves stands out in contrast to most other thickly-leaved trees and plants in the landscape.
The forest-green leaves are beautiful all season, but one of the standout qualities of Prairie Cascade is that in the fall its leaves turn golden yellow and when they drop, the stems stay yellow - a beautiful beacon in the dark, gray landscapes of winter.
Landscape Application:
Gorgeous specimens that bring motion and white noise to your landscape, Willows are fantastic trees for front and backyard use! Most people love using them as a specimen plant that is allowed to grow naturally. Fast-growing and fine-textured, they carry an elegant softness all their own!
The Weeping Willow tree loves water and is a regular member along streams, riparian areas, near ponds, and along banks to prevent erosion. You'll love the look of one or more planted at the edge of the lake or water feature! Try one as an anchor tree in a new Rain Garden or runoff swale to catch rainwater in a low area.
It is also one of the fastest-growing shade trees, with a growth rate of 8-10 feet a year. Plant one to completely block out an ugly boathouse, or other unsightly views in just a few short years.
The privacy it creates is airy and friendly. It will quickly reach its mature height and develop into one of your favorite plants. It is fast to establish, growing quickly to beautify an area in the quickest amount of time. Every lake property or waterfront home should have one.
Create groupings or plant one in a wide-open area of your backyard. Let the branches hang to the ground in an area that does not need to be maintained beneath. You'll love sitting under the shady shelter of the branches or setting up a hammock or a clubhouse for the kids.

#ProPlantTips for Care
Willow trees prefer full sun, do best if they receive at least six hours of full sunlight, and prefer moist, average soil. Because this willow tree adapts easily to any soil type, soil pH testing and amending are not necessary! Willow thrives in moist soil to average soil, however, once your plants are established, they will tolerate drier well-drained soils as long as they have a bit more shade and a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the root system.
Scarlet Curls Willow has roots that can be invasive and head directly toward any water source. Plant yours at least 10 feet from a septic tank, water source, foundation, or paved area. Prune in late winter to keep your tree tidier and remove dead branching.
