These herbaceous perennials thrive in hot and sunny sites! Best in full sun, Echinacea are hardy, tolerant, and drought-tolerant once established. While not particular on soil type, Echinacea does great in most soil types as long as they are well-drained! Provide moderate, yet consistent moisture for new plants, then afterward, they only need supplemental moisture during prolonged heat and drought or risk seeing reduced flowering and vigor. All plants can be kept stress-free with a 3-4-inch layer of arborist mulch.

Divide perennial clumps about every 3 to 4 years. This Coneflower usually reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improve general appearance. If you leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall their seeds provide winter food for birds. You can enjoy the dried seed heads as well because they will provide architectural interest in the winter.
