Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Famous Burgandy wine is in your future when you order the Pinot Noir Grape Vine (Vitis 'Pinot Noir') for your vineyard! Even if you don't have a vineyard yet, planting a couple of Grapevines in your garden means you will almost instantly! How's that for bragging rights?

The dense clusters are gorgeous glaucous deep true-blue and are arguably one of the most famous wine grapes around! The lush green foliage is a gorgeous backdrop to the white summer flower clusters that will be buzzing with bees and beneficial pollinators!

Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 6 through 10, Pinot Noir Grapes tolerate heat and humidity and are self-fertile. However, you'll enjoy a much larger yield when you plant multiples, that way if the local birds abscond with a few, you won't lose out on plenty of grapes to ferment for your sipping pleasure! Use bird netting to keep a majority of the fruit for your fermented beverages!

Planting and Application:

Grape Vines are fantastic fruiting Vines to grow on arbors and trellis, fencing and any structure with support. Train up supports or a lattice to shade a balcony while keeping the roots in a large planter and gain lovely fruitful privacy without sacrificing space!

Pinot Noir Grape Vines have a dark color that indicates high amounts of the chemical resveratrol, an antioxidant that offers great health benefits. You'll enjoy a deep red wine with a black cherry flavor and complex notes. The leaves are often used in Mediterranean recipes and the vines are amazing dual-purpose edible landscaping specimens, shade, and privacy Vines!

  • Dark Blue Clusters of Burgundy Wine Grapes
  • High-Quality Fruit Makes a Full-Bodied Red Wine
  • Self-Fertile & Grown on Own Root
  • Blooms Support Pollinators & Fruit Feeds Wildlife
  • Shade, Wine & Edible Landscaping Vines

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Pinot Noir Grapes have a reputation for being fickle, but you'll have great results following a regiment of care. Grow in full sun and provide plenty of regular moisture to get it established and will reward you with years of delicious fruit. These plants appreciate deep, somewhat acidic, well-drained soil. Top off with a 3-4 inch thick mulch layer to support the roots, plus regular fertility. Prune your Grapevine in late winter or early spring to maintain the shape, size, and vigor of next year's fruiting wood.

  • Full Sun
  • Regular Moisture & Fertility
  • Best in Rich Well-Drained Soil
  • Appreciates Mulched Beds
  • Prune in Late Winter/Early Spring
  • Low Chill Hours
