Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Azalea Planting & Care Guide
- Full Sun Azalea Bush - Tolerates Partial/Afternoon Shade
- Prefers Slightly Acidic Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture Needs
- Low-Maintenance & High Performance
- Disease-Resistant Azalea - Lace Bug Resistant
- Evergreen In Warm Climates - Semi-Evergreen In Colder Winters
Choose your planting site carefully, as Azaleas will perform best in well-drained soil with 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Azaleas hot climates (USDA Zones 9 - 10) beg for afternoon shade.
Azaleas have shallow root balls, so do not plant them too deep. Keep the soil at the same level they grew in at the nursery, or mound up to improve drainage. Azaleas need to be planted in slightly acidic soil with a lower pH.
Apply a 3-4-inch layer of pine straw or bark mulch over the roots to keep them cool and moist. Weed the surrounding area, as Azalea's shallow roots resent having nearby competition and hot sun baking onto them.
Perfecto Mundo® Azalea watering tip: Use the Finger Test to tell if you need to water your new shrub or not. Azaleas prefer moderate yet consistent moisture, especially during the summer. Provide supplemental water regularly when you don't receive rainfall.
This broadleaf evergreen Azalea flowers on old wood and again on new wood. Prune after the spring flowers are done to encourage new growth.
You can apply a quality fertilizer for acid-loving flowering plants and follow the label instructions.
