Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Cool, calm, and collected, the frosted blue-green leaves of STAR SINGLE™ Peppermint Star Pinks (Dianthus x 'Noreen') will add gorgeous evergreen bunches and bundles to your late spring landscape! Low-growing and dense, these hardy perennials smother themselves each spring in clouds of brilliant lavender-pink single blossoms with darker, rosy-red eyes!

Garden Pinks have been a garden standard for generations! Tough and adaptable, they seem to thrive in areas other plants can't, while looking gorgeous and carefree! Pollinators adore these spicy-sweet flowers as much as we do!

Peppermint Star may have shorter stems, but you'll still enjoy these dainty blossoms in your bouquets and nosegays! Sure to brighten anyone's day, the spiky texture of the foliage and the cool hue it retains year-round delights you, your pollinators, and maybe a Hummingbird or two!

Planting and Application:

These are ideal low-growing edging to define the transition between lawn and garden beds! No Perennial border or Cottage garden seems complete without these brilliant little blooms. Pollinator gardens are always welcome locations for dense, mat-forming clumps of evergreen foliage, where they happily ramble between pathway pavers, as garden filler, or in Rock Gardens!

Spicy-scented, the long-lasting blossoms are as beautiful in the ground as they are in containers and spilling over the edges of planters or garden borders.

Peppermint Star Pinks add dainty tufts of color when planted among or on top of retaining walls, and are great erosion control for hard-to-mow hillsides and slopes. Their modest size and bright color make them wonderful spillers in your patio pots, porch planters and even hanging baskets.

  • Bright Lavender-Pink Blooms & Rosy-Red Eye
  • Fragrant, Spicy Scent
  • Evergreen Low-Growing Clumps
  • Long-Lasting & Great Cut Flowers
  • Containers, Edging, Rock Gardens, Perennial & Cottage Borders & Pollinator Gardens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Dianthus Pinks are hardy perennials that have very low moisture requirements once established and tolerate hot, dry sites and occasional drought. Plant in a full sun location in well-drained soil, and you'll be rewarded with bountiful blooms. Prune or pinch back stems after flowering to clean up the clump. Quite drought-tolerant once established, keep their beds weeded for best results. Divide clumps every 3-5 years.

  • Full Sun & Low Moisture Well-Drained Soil
  • Low-Maintenance & Easy Care
  • Drought-Tolerant
  • Deer Resistant
  • Tough, Versatile & Adaptable

STAR SINGLE™ Peppermint Star Dianthus are traditional and beloved garden plants for all sized yards. Mingling among all other plants with grace, beauty and ease! Order enough to complete your project this year from the expert growers at NatureHills.com today!
