Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

There are excellent street trees and then there's Patriot Elm Tree (Ulmus x 'Patriot'). With fantastic foliage, desirable disease resistance, and tolerance of just about any growing conditions you have, this tree is the whole package!

This deciduous tree is tough! It was bred specifically to be pest and disease-tolerant while maintaining the utmost eye appeal. Each spring, its densely branched crown fills in with glossy mid-green foliage. As the days become brisk, you'll be delighted when this tree turns a bright yellow. Perfectly complementing the Red Maples and Evergreens nearby.

Waiting for growth is sometimes the hardest part about planting new trees! We're happy to say this Elm hybrid grows quite fast so you'll have a grand-looking tree in no time! Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 5 to 9, these are fantastic trees that mature into a vase-shaped slim form.

Landscape Application:

Use it as a lawn specimen tree in your front yard or along the road as a street tree! Urban air pollution isn't a problem for Patriot in the slightest. They aren't bothered by salt either so those in colder climates won't have to worry when they're salting the roadways.

Try planting a Patriot in place of other Elm trees, where the once great Elm tree boulevard once graced American streets but was almost wiped out by a disease. However, Patriot is completely Dutch Elm Disease-Resistant! These Elms are also resistant to Elm Leaf Beetles.

Fantastic shade trees, these fast-growing focal points are ideal for broad spreading cooling shade, that is perfect for a reading nook, seating area, or shading your home and reducing cooling costs. Your local bird populations will adore these trees as shelter!

  • Gorgeous Green Foliage Grows Dense
  • Bright Yellow Fall Color
  • Dutch Elm Disease Resistant
  • Pest & Disease Resistant
  • Slightly Weeping Vase-Shaped Crown
  • Great For Street Plantings, Shade Trees & Urban Pollution

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Elm Trees prefer average well-drained soils with full sun access but are especially in urban environments and pollution. Elms are drought-resistant once established and do best with an application of 3-4 inches of layer of mulch around the entire root system to support their growth. Prune young trees to correct growth and remove winter dieback in the late winter or very early spring.

  • Full Sun
  • Any Well-Drained - Tolerates Poor Soil & Salt
  • Moderate Moisture - Drought Tolerant Once Established
  • Prune Late Winter
  • Highly Pollution Tolerant

If you're looking for a tree to become the backdrop of family pictures for years to come, congrats! You can stop the search here! There simply isn't a better specimen. Don't let another year go by without adding a Patriot Elm to your landscape. Order yours today!
