Growing Zones 4-9
Glowing, sultry color! The Passionate Returns Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Passionate Returns') has large yellow buds that burst open into a combination of pinks, corals, and rosy-red blooms with a golden-yellow and lime green eye that highlights the ruffled petals!
A dramatic combination, especially when set off by the long, strappy foliage. Deep green graceful leaves form well-behaved, spreading clumps. These are mounded and arching, lower-growing plants that are ideal for edging and borders, as well as groupings!
The multi-branched scapes provide loads of flowers per plant! Blooming in mid-June, just as the summer sun becomes the most intense, these vibrant beauties go all out and flower for a long time, and then rebloom some more! You'll enjoy seeing all the butterflies and pollinators stopping by for a visit!
Low care and very easy to grow, Daylily never seem bothered by much of anything in the environment, by deer, juglone, salt, or by pests. Throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 9, these diploid perennials are incredible in the sun!
Planting and Application:
Versatile and adaptable, Daylily are garden workhorses! It's no wonder you see them regularly used in commercial plantings, there's not much that can stop them! Consistent bloomers, quick to grow and fast to fill in, they really are a fantastic garden addition! Making them ideal for use in mass plantings or small specimen groupings alike!
Passionate Returns features a unique color that seems to meld amazingly with other golden blooms, reds, pinks, and contrast purples and blues! Plant as a specimen or accent among your other perennials or as a standout focal point!
Fantastic in masses and in long rows, these form compact clumps that slowly spread in a polite manner. Group in sets of three or fringe around garden structures, trees, and shrubs for a finishing touch to your landscaping.
Ideal as borders and edging, these lower-growing selections define garden edges, driveways, walkways, and paths with graceful foliage and bold blooms. Perfect along that 'hell-strip' along the road, Daylily seems impervious to salt, heat, sun, poor soils, and urban pollution.
Add to a sunny patio and balcony containers or porch pots for graceful beauty, or add to Foundation plantings, Cottage, Perennial, Rock Gardens, and Pollinator gardens where they will form a compact clump without competing for space or overcrowding their neighbors.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Best in full sun in cooler summers and partial sun, especially favoring afternoon shade, in warmer climates, Passionate Returns is a hardy perennial in USDA growing zones 4 through 9. These are widely adaptable perennials and can tolerate a range of conditions! Best in average garden soil with moderate fertility, you'll find Daylily can tolerate about any type of well-drained soil.
Provide ample water while young plants are becoming established, after that, Daylily only requires moderate, yet consistent moisture and can be drought tolerant once established. For best results and longevity, provide your plants supplemental watering during times of need. Add a 3-4 inch layer of mulch over the soil surface for best results!
A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill. For more blooms, deadhead spent flowers. Prune all the old foliage off in late autumn as soon as these herbaceous perennials have succumbed to frost.
