Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

The moisture-loving Orange Calla Lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica sp.) is a fantastic perennial bulb, superb cut flower and an excellent addition to seasonal garden beds and porch pots. With bold orange-colored flowers with the classical clean modern look to them that manages to be both formal and informal at the same time!

The broad green leaves have the classic white speckles and upright growth, forming dense vertical clumps of incredible beauty! Emerging from the leaves are the trumpet-like blooms in bright orange. Actually comprised of a single petal called a spathe wrapped elegantly around a central spadix in the center.

These perennial bulbs are cold-hardy in growing zones 8 through 10 and can be treated as annuals, or tender perennials and houseplants in northern growing zones. Growing into dense clumps these tolerate wet soil and can be planted around water features and ponds for erosion control.

Planting and Application:

Orange Calla’s look divine in rows along the edge of a walkway or to define a garden border, or in groupings around a bench or sculpture to highlight it. These are prime pollinator attractors and add fiery cut flowers to bouquets and floral arrangements!

Perfect for containers and mixed-planters, even as thrillers in window boxes, Calla lights up any porch or patio. Once it gets too cold, the foliage makes these ideal houseplants and they love a fountain or water feature where the moisture is higher. Their easy care makes them bright and cheerful gift plants for any occasion!

  • Bright Orange Spathe
  • Speckled Bright Green Foliage
  • Tender Annual & Perennial Warm Climate Bulb
  • Great Container & Edging Plant
  • Elegant for Floral Design & Gift Plant

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Calla Lilies love the full sun but appreciate afternoon shade and part shade in hotter climates. Maintain a very high moisture level in the soil and ensure it does not become stagnant. Add plenty of moisture-retaining organic matter and a thick layer of mulch to the soil to maintain the water content. Some northern growers dig the bulbs and store as you would Dahlia and Elephant Ears.

  • Full Sun & Part Shade
  • High Moisture & Fertility
  • Mulch Well
  • Frost Tender Annual/Perennial Bulb Zones 8-10
Let the Orange Calla Lily set your garden beds and patio pots aflame with bright color and versatility to your garden, or the garden of a friend! Order today at NatureHills.com for plants delivered to your doorstep!
