Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

The Noni Tree (Morinda citrifolia) is a fantastic ornamental tree with unique fruit and hardy adaptability for those lucky enough to live in a warm to hot growing zone! Both fruit and seeds are eaten and even the leaves are used as a green vegetable! How about that for a double-duty landscaping edible tree?

A multi-stemmed ornamental in the Coffee family, these are found in their native habitats along sandy shores and coastlines. The large tropical green foliage and branching growth makes for a very pretty tree! The tiny star-shaped white blossoms are a major draw for pollinators and appear in clusters and will be a favorite to your local butterflies!

The white fruit are glossy and like Mulberries, giving rise to its other name - Indian Mulberry. Noni are traditionally medicinal and edible plants throughout their native Hawaii and Pacific Islands, even reaching Australia. While not particularly enjoyed here because of the pungent fruit, (almost foul-smelling to some), it is a staple in many parts of the world.

Planting and Application:

Noni, or Cheese Fruit, can be used juiced, fresh eaten, added to salads or cooked into curry or stewed. The seeds have been roasted and eaten too! Even if you don’t like the fruit, the tree is a very lovely tropical specimen and shade tree.

Similar looking to Citrus trees, these broadleaf evergreens create lush screening and privacy in a hurry. The fruit looks a bit like a green pinecone that ripens to a translucent white fruit to create food forests and edible accents in the hedge or border. Large enough to cast dense shade at maturity, Noni are beautiful unique specimen plants for your garden!

  • Lush Bright Green Evergreen Foliage
  • White Star-Shaped Blossoms for Pollinators
  • Unique Pungent White Fruit When Ripe
  • Great Specimen, Hedge & Edible Accent
  • Earthy, Citrusy & Unique Flavor

#ProPlantTips for Care:

The Noni tree can tolerate a wide range of soils, any well-drained medium works for these plants, including saline, pumice, sand and drought. Water regularly for the healthiest-looking trees.

  • Tolerant of Salt & Drought Once Established
  • Loves Fertile Well-Drained Soil
  • Provide Protection from Strong Wind
  • Handles Full Sun to Full Shade, But Fruit & Flowers Best in Sun
