Description
Bring home a garden favorite with the Nablus Gladiolus (Gladiolus x hortulanus 'Nablus') today! This ruffled bloom has violet-magenta-purple blooms with white throats that act like bulls-eyes for pollinators and hummingbirds!
The tall wands are packed with big blooms alternating up the 36-48 inch tall stem, flowering from the bottom to the top to give you weeks of color throughout the summer! Fringed in vertical sword-like foliage that accentuates the upright flowers!
These summer-flowering bulbs, better known as corms, are reliable perennials but need to be lifted in the fall in colder growing zones. Nablus Gladiolus corms can be used as seasonal or annual accents in all USDA planting zones, however, gardeners in USDA planting zones 8 to 10 can use these plants in the ground all year round as perennial accents!
Landscape Application:
Nablus Gladiolus shines among pink, purple, and white blooms, and melds right into dark flower gardens, Cottage borders, and mixed perennial gardens! Anywhere they are planted, Nablus turns your sunny beds and borders into cutting and pollinator gardens!
You don't need a large property to enjoy these incredible blooms because these space-saving bulbs add tall thrillers and showy focal points among your container gardens, front porch urns, and patio mixed planters in the sun! Apartment and balcony gardeners can use these tall spires as seasonal accents!
The tall wands become vivid backdrops lining the back of your garden border, or lining pathways and fence lines. Create a winding or zig-zagging row along your home's foundation or throughout your sun garden beds. Create groupings that amplify the saturated color of Nablus around your mailbox or dot clusters throughout your garden beds as focal points and summer color!
- Ruffled Saturated Violet-Magenta-Purple Flowering Wands
- Upright Sword-Shaped Green Foliage
- Long-Lasting Bloom Time
- Fantastic Cut Flowers & Pollinator-Friendly
- Specimens, Groupings, Container Thrillers, Focal Points & Mass Plantings
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Gladiolus are strongest in full sun in cooler growing zones but appreciate afternoon shade in hot growing zones. Any well-drained soil location works great. These bulbs do appreciate moderate yet regular moisture access and mulched beds.
Plant these corms in the spring about 6-8 inches deep. Groupings and rows have the biggest effect and impact on your garden, so plant your corms pointy side up about 5-6 inches apart.
Stake your flower wands unless you plant your Glads in a location protected from the wind. Deadhead as soon as the last flower fades but keep the greenery to make food for the bulb until they turn yellow.
Gladiola corms can grow as seasonal or annual accents in all USDA planting zones. However, gardeners in zones 8 to 10 can use these plants in the ground all year round as perennial accents! In zones 1 through 7, lift your corms as you would Canna or Dahlias, and store them for the winter in a cool, dry location.
- Full Sun & Afternoon Shade In Hot Climates
