To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

So unique, the Mushroom Japanese Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica 'Mushroom') is a curious mounded, almost perfectly rounded evergreen that sweeps the ground! The bright green new growth darkens for the summer before transforming into gorgeous bronzy purple winter foliage!
The airy soft foliage is a delight to have in the landscape! But it's that umbrella-shaped growing form that really takes the cake! Barely needing any maintenance to keep it in its tidy, formal mound, Mushroom is so easy to care for while delivering formal and whimsical garden décor without taking up much space or blocking views)!
Spring brings unique yellowish bottlebrush pollen at the ends of your branches which become unique little round cones in the fall for added interest! Japanese Cedars are heat and humidity tolerant throughout USDA growing zones 6 to 9 and only grow to a neat and tidy 3-4 feet in height and width. Japanese Cedars thrive in full sun and partial shade so long as they are planted in well-drained soil with moderate moisture availability. The slower growth will never outgrow its environment or make you work for all this unique character! These can be pruned as needed to keep a more uniform shape or could be allowed to grow more naturally and free-form. Should you need to do any pruning, wait until the very early spring to nip out crossing/rubbing branches or clean up the interior for air circulation. Water well going into winter, this is especially important in the colder zones where the soil freezes. Protect from drying winter winds in the colder zones.
