Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

A Threadleaf Coreopsis, also known as Tickseed, with adorable lobes on each leaf that resemble tiny mouses ears, the Mouse Ear Coreopsis (Coreopsis auriculata 'Nana') is a tough spreading sun-loving perennial with dark-green fine-textured foliage and blooms for months!

In late spring to early summer, bright golden-yellow blooms and button centers appear, rimmed in tooth-edged petals. Bees and other beneficial pollinators adore these ray flowers! You'll be providing nectar for months out of the year!

Thriving in full sun, heat, and humidity, these spread to form dense mats of lush foliage that are easily kept in check. These hardy wildflowers can thrive in a wide range or conditions throughout their native habitat here in the US.

How to Use Mouse Ear Coreopsis In The Landscape

Fantastic groundcover and en masse to cover those tricky, hot dry locations in the landscape, plant Mouse Ear Coreopsis in those out-of-the-way areas, slopes and that hell-strip along the road.

Their adaptability in these conditions means Coreopsis thrives even better in average garden conditions! Dwarf Tickseed and their small lateral lobed foliage add fine-textured and airy borders and edging throughout your landscape.

A versatile border or edging around that sunny garden bed, driveways or paths, lobed Tickseed slowly spreads to fill in larger areas. This dwarf plant won’t take over or overcrowd your garden beds.

Great in a container or planter for your sunny patios and balconies, the demure plants even look fantastic in a sun-filled window-box as a filler and spiller.

Fantastic in Rock gardens and Perennial borders, Tickseed are naturals in the Cottage and Pollinator gardens as well! Readily naturalizing in prairie and meadow settings, these draw pollinators anywhere they are planted!

#ProPlantTips For Care

Best in the full sun, Tickseed thrive in heat and humidity throughout the USDA growing zones of 4 through 9. Regardless of cold winters or hot summers, these herbaceous perennials spread by underground stolons to form a dense mat.

Tolerating rocky, sandy and about any type of well-drained soil, Coreopsis prefers moderately fertile soils and moderate moisture. Water regularly to get young plants established, and afterward, they're drought-tolerant natives!

Shear or deadhead to keep the blooms returning. Mulch helps keep moisture in the soil and adds insulation for the root system from both heat and chill. Deer leave these alone

For hardy native tolerance and long-blooming sunny yellow flowers, all in a neat and tidy package, you'll want to include Mouse Ear Coreopsis in your landscape design for sure! Order today at NatureHills.com!
