Fiery ruffled red blooms edged in gold! If you like hot color, then the Moses' Fire Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Moses Fire') really delivers! This is a radiant, rich red with a faint hint of orange-gold along the edges, just enough to highlight each bloom in sunshine. And yes, true, each bloom lasts only a day, but this plant fires off "daily dozens" every day for weeks on end!

Not only is this satiny flowering perennial going to wake up the eyes, but its blooms have a second layer of petals that form a ruffled cluster in the center! Then it will further knock your socks off with a rebloom later in the summer!

Must-haves for the cut flower garden and the pollinator border, you'll be glad you purchased a few extras so everyone gets their fill! Moses' Fire smolders throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9, growing into neat and tidy 18-24 inch tall and wide clumps when in bloom, these perennial tetraploid Daylilies have fountains of strappy green foliage that is long, slender, and arching! Sometimes semi-evergreen in mild winters, they are reliable perennials in cooler climates.

Planting and Application:

Some things are easy. Selecting a durable, easy-care plant that delivers weeks of extremely vibrant blooms - even in the hot, dry 'hell strip' between the street and the sidewalk? Adapted to being planted en masse, lining paths and garden edges in rows, together, or showing off as focal points! Where do we sign up?

If you want a fast, easy way to bring a vibrant pop of color to your landscape, this selection is at the top of the list! Incredible specimens that sizzle in the sunny landscape, Moses' Fire works in pampered Perennial beds and Rock Gardens alike! This selection looks great when multiples are planted together (also known as "massing".) Clay soils, dry soils, this plant doesn't care. It works near walnut trees and laughs at roadside salt spray.

Pair Moses' Fire Daylily with Oso Easy® Roses, ornamental grasses, and a large evergreen tree and call it good. Use as a "thriller" in seasonal container gardens. Use this by itself as a brilliant border around your pool deck. Or try mixing with other Daylilies in an 'ombre' color pattern that blends from red to orange to yellow. Daylilies are impactful and wonderful'Xeric landscape plants and are on many fire-scaping lists.

  • Extreme Color! Rich Radiant Red & Gold Edges
  • Double Petals Are Curvy Ruffled & Clustered
  • Fountains of Strappy Green Foliage
  • Incredible Pollinator Flowers & Fragrant Cut Flower Bouquets
  • Specimens, Accents, Edging & En Masse

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Daylilies are some of the easiest perennials to grow and are a good choice for any gardener! The plant prefers full sun with at least 8 hours of direct sunlight for the best performance. They will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions. Add a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch over the soil surface for best results!

Spent blooms can be deadheaded, then remove entire stems once all the buds are done to keep the plants reblooming. Daylilies are susceptible to rust and some other foliage diseases so for that reason it is very important to cut all of the foliage to the ground in late fall after the plants have been exposed to a couple of frosts. Removing the foliage before winter prevents the overwintering of disease on the old leaves so it is best to always clean them up and dispose of the old foliage each year. Every 3-5 years, it is recommended you divide the clumps to keep them growing vigorously.

  • Bloom Best in Full Sun
  • Adaptable in Any Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture - Low Once Established
  • Prune Late Fall, Deadhead Regularly & Divide Every 3-5 Years
  • Seldom Bothered By Pests, Disease, Deer, Salt & Clay Soil
  • Drought Tolerant Once Established & Very Durable

Light a fire in your landscape with the double petalled splendor of the Moses' Fire Daylily from Nature Hills today! Order today as soon as this incredible perennial ornamental is available and watch the neighbors crane their necks each summer!
