The clumping foliage looks great all growing season throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 9. Montmartre lives up to its name, Tall Bearded Iris reach 33 inches in height and spread just 12 - 18 inches wide! But when allowed, they will naturalize gradually to fill small areas.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant your Montmartre Tall Bearded Iris in partial or full sun where the soil drains well (soggy conditions rot the rhizomes!). Provide moderate moisture for new plants and during extended drought. We will ship these quality rhizomes to you when it is time to plant them this fall. Add a layer of arborist mulch for moisture retention, insulation, and winter protection.
Divide every few years and it's recommended you deadhead after the flowers fade. Trim all the foliage back in the autumn once it yellows and cover the rhizomes loosely with compost, mulch, or evergreen boughs for the winter. Deer, Rabbits, and Squirrels seldom eat these perennials or their rhizomes.
Information About Bare Root Iris
Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh-cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different-sized roots.
Be sure to set your Iris up for success by planting it in the fall in a shallow hole with a hill of soil at its center. Place the rhizome on the hill and bury it with enough soil to leave the top of the rhizome exposed. Note, that it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover in the spring.
