The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

If you're looking for an extravagant addition to your garden that is worth its weight in gold, this is the perennial for you! Each year, expect to be blown away by Million Dollar Blush (Delphinium elatum 'Million Dollar Blush') Delphinium's massive amount of soft pink, double-flowered spires! They appear towards the beginning of summer and continue to steal the show well into fall when they rebloom!
Watch in delight as these spires reach for the sky year after year. As if their abundance of pink blossoms and their white 'bee' centers weren't enough, they'll often draw the eye of wandering pollinators such as butterflies! Your garden will come alive with the fluttering wings of curious butterflies, honeybees, and hummingbirds in search of a tasty treat!
While it can be said Delphinium requires a bit more care than other plants, it is also true that any attention they receive, they'll give back in beauty tenfold! Boldly blooming throughout USDA growing zones 3 through 7, Delphinium are low-maintenance herbaceous perennials that can grow to around 3 feet in height when in bloom. The dense clumps of airy heavily-dissected foliage can get 2 feet in width at maturity!
Planting and Application:
Million Dollar Blush is elegant, classy, and exactly what you want when looking for a backdrop for your garden. They make excellent filler or focal points in perennial gardens. Seeing as Delphinium are often one of the taller perennials in the garden, they make fantastic vertical accents! The blooming spikes add texture without taking up too much space. Be sure to include these garden classics in your Cottage border and cutting gardens! Turn any garden into a Butterfly garden with these vivacious blooms!
Million Dollar Blush will also look great as the back border to a perennial garden filled with shorter flowers. Try planting one on either side of your driveway or entryway for a frame that will make a wonderful first impression! Groupings and rows of these waving wands add punctuation throughout the landscape! Anchor a garden border or add vertical interest to a planter or mixed container with these vivid pink exclamation points!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
You'll want to plant your Million Dollar Blush Delphinium somewhere it can soak up the sun all day long. Delphinium needs to be planted in rich, moist soil that is well-drained in a good air circulation location and should never experience drought. Keep the soil moist but never soggy. They do appreciate some afternoon shade. Water at the base of the plant and keep the foliage as dry as possible. Add 3-4 inches of organic mulch around the base of the plant to help maintain moisture and buffer heat and cold.
These stronger stems rarely need any staking when planted in a protected area, but if you do grow them in windy locations, a sturdy stake helps lend support. Cut the summer flower stalks to the ground immediately after flowering for a second burst of bloom in the fall. Then as the foliage turns yellow in the fall, prune back the leaves and stems close to the ground and water it in well before the ground freezes.
Delphiniums are also heavy feeders. The addition of compost or manure to the soil, as well as a granular fertilizer, will result in healthier, stronger plants. It is recommended you wear gloves when handling these plants since some can develop skin sensitivity. Always monitor young pets and young children around Delphinium.
