Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Featuring thin skin and lots of juice, these highly sought-after fruits can cost a lot at the supermarket. It's much easier to grow your own supply!

There are so many different ways to use these, that the tree itself has collected many nicknames - West Indian Lime, Key Lime, Bartender's Lime - Mexican Limes are used in the kitchen, behind the bar, in the spa, and in the bakery! You'll love coming up with ways to use your harvest! Try zesting the peel, juicing it for cocktails and pie, and drying and grinding the leaves for aromatherapy.

Planting and Application:

Grow them in the ground in Zones 8 - 11 where these become fantastic hedges, specimen plantings, edible landscape accents, and focal points anywhere you have a patch of bright sun! Make a bold statement by placing a single Lime tree as an anchor in your foundation plantings.

No space in the garden? Use as a patio tree in a large container for Zones 4 - 7. Move them inside for the winter months and use them as houseplants that fragrance your home! Set potted Limes around your pool or balcony for living year-round tropical décor!

  • High Yield of Delicious Fruit
  • Small, Vigorous & Versatile Ornamental

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Citrus trees need full sun and good air circulation and drainage. Plant in very well-drained slightly acidic soil with adequate fertility. Citrus trees like to dry out between waterings and enjoy moderate moisture, in pots or in the ground.

Although Citrus can grow year-round in warmer regions (zones 9 and 10), they can also thrive in colder areas (zones 4 to 7) as long as the tree is brought indoors before the first frost of winter.

In zone 8, you can cover your tree in the event of a cold snap or unexpected overnight freeze. Citrus need to be planted in a sheltered spot to avoid the worst of the chill and avoid planting Citrus in low areas that collect cold air. If a spot like that is unavailable, or you are in a chill-prone climate, then you are safer planting Citrus Trees in a large, deep container with wheels to easily move them to a protected location or indoors when needed.

In cold growing zones, begin slowly acclimating your tree indoors in the fall, or into a protected location, eventually moving your tree inside. Indoor plants need a bright indirect sun window, greenhouse, sunroom, or enclosed patio for the winter. In spring, reverse this process and begin acclimating your tree to again be back out in the full sun all summer. This reduces stress and leaf drop.
