Want a spring garden brimming with varied color? Look no further than the Long Stemmed Mammoth Tulip Mix (Tulipa Mix) and its randomized blend of pinks, purples, yellow, red, and white, and every bi-color in between!
Growing on strong, tall stems with vase-shaped clumps of strappy greenery. The stems are strong enough to hold up the upward-facing large flowers, growing 20-25 inches tall. Flowering throughout the spring, this bold mixture of blooms will thrill you and your early-emerging pollinators. Plus you'll have plenty of colors to choose from for your bouquets!
Cold-hardy, this fall-planted Tulip mixture has mammoth-sized bulbs that will burst into spring with eye-popping equally large colorful flowers. Comprised of cuppy, silken-petalled Darwin Hybrid Tulips in solid and bi-color varieties, these scented beauties grow fast and form gradually naturalizing clumps through the years.
Planting and Application:
Tulips are indispensable for the spring garden and shake off the winter blahs. This unique range of sizes, shapes, and bold colors comes in almost every color spectrum that only Tulips provide. This tall Tulip's colors pop against any plant or backdrop, especially when planted in groupings.
Tulips are suitable for a wide range of plantings and are excellent in the Cottage border, the mixed perennial garden, and in Rock gardens! Their sculpted blooms and strappy foliage look fantastic in both informal and formal beds and can be used in nearly any garden design scheme.
This lovely violet and white Tulip adds height, drama, and a rainbows-worth spectrum of color! Like other Darwin Tulip varieties, it naturalizes and doubles every few years, so you can expect more and more opportunities to admire these large blooms. That makes it easy to create a rainbow of color en masse.
- Randomized Mixture of Tulip Varieties & Colors
- Vase-Shaped Clumps of Soft Green Foliage
- Early Emerging Bee & Butterfly Food Sources
- Sweetly Scented Cut Flower Bouquets
- Great For Seasonal Container Gardens
- Beds & Borders, En Masse, Rows & Groupings
#ProPlantTips for Care:
These mixed Tulip bulbs grow best in both full to partial sun, and do best in a well-drained location, as they do not like wet soil. Water newly planted bulbs very well, but after, only water as needed. Once established, you will only need to provide supplemental water if it gets dry that fall, or during summers when you have extensive heat and drought. Top-dress with a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch to consistently hold in soil moisture and insulate the bulbs and their roots.
Deadhead the flower heads once they fade but let the foliage remain to make food for the bulbs. Trim away the leaves and remove them from the area once they turn yellow. Apply an early spring application of bulb fertilizer.
Tips on Planting Tulip Bulbs
Plant Tulip Bulbs in the fall about 6 to 8 weeks before a hard freeze (or anytime in the autumn when the ground is still workable.). Place the perennial bulbs in a hole with the pointy end upward and at least 8 inches deep (about 3x the length of the bulb), spaced about 4-6 inches apart.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade Outdoors & Indirect Sun Indoors
- Needs Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune After Foliage Yellows
- Fall-Planted Perennial Spring Flowering Bulbs
