Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Growing Zones 3-8
Little Visions in Pink Astilbe (Astilbe chinensis 'Little Visions in Pink') takes all of the great qualities of full-sized garden Astilbes and shrinks it down to a petite 16 inches tall and wide! This means that you get a long season of colorful bloom as new flowers open when old flowers fade. The flowers are excellent when cut for bouquets, either fresh or dried.
The foliage is a compact ball of highly textured blue-green, fern-like leaves that emerge from the ground each spring. Then, in early summer, spikes of flamingo pink flowers grow up out of the center of the plant. Each spike has hundreds of tiny flowers that open up in succession.
Pollinators and hummingbirds adore these blooms all summer and you will love them in the vase bouquets or lighting up your shade garden. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 8, these dwarf Astilbe grow just 1-2 feet in height and width.
Landscape Application:
Astilbe is a classic shade garden ornamental! It is at its best in big drifts in the dappled shade border or under big shade trees where other plants struggle. It is perfect in a natural dappled shade setting or as a groundcover in the shade of a north-facing wall.
This herbaceous perennial will quickly fill in wherever you put it. Its diminutive size makes it a must-have addition to smaller modern gardens or in containers on an urban deck or shaded balcony.
Must-haves for the pollinator garden and cutting garden, Astilbe are gorgeous anywhere you plant them under tree canopies, shaded porches and patios, and in the dappled woodland edges where deer roam without the worry that your landscaping will be nibbled down to the ground.
- Beautiful Flamingo-Pink Flowers
- Bees, Butterflies & Hummingbirds
- Great Fresh & Dried Cut Flowers
- Long Summer Flowering Season
- Great Dwarf Sized Plant With Full-Sized Flowers
- Perfect For Shady Borders and Beds, Containers & Massing
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Astilbe does great in more sun in the coolest of their favored growing zones but prefers partial shade, afternoon shade, and full shade in hotter climates. Plant in any type of well-drained soil with regular moisture access, and Astilbe does well in higher moisture areas and rain gardens. Prune down mounds in the early spring and deadhead old flowers after they fade. Every 3-5 years, you can divide these herbaceous perennials to keep their clumps tidy.
- Full Shade In Hot Climates, Part Shade Everywhere
- Must Have Well-Drained Soil But Tolerates Clay
- Prefers Regular Moisture Access To Higher Moisture
- Prune These Herbaceous Perennials In Early Spring
- Deer & Rabbit Resistant
