Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

A reblooming dwarf powerhouse! Every garden needs a few Little Grapette Daylilies (Hemerocallis 'Little Grapette')! This traditional Daylily has been a staple for many years for small-space and easy-care gardening at its finest! Featuring dark lavender/deep purple petals with a chartreuse throat - Little Grapette is easy to pick out from a distance!
Some people even report them to be the most fragrant Daylilies they have ever planted! So you'll definitely want to be up close to these showy blooms! Just because this plant is small in stature doesn't mean that it doesn't command attention in the landscape! Pollinators and Hummingbirds will arrive to check out these fruity landing pads!
Even when not in bloom, the fountains of grassy green leaves form tidy vase-shaped clumps until frost! In warmer climates, Little Grapette can be semi-evergreen! This diploid herbaceous perennial is cold and heat-hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9 and only grows about a foot high. This stunning bunching plant can form mounds spreading 24-36 inches wide!
Planting and Application:
Plant the Little Graphette Daylily in the front of the sunny border with like-minded companions such as Hemerocallis Happy Returns or Geranium Rozanne and stand back for the explosive flower show. These blooms show off as facer plants around leggy shrubs or before evergreen hedges and foundation plantings!
Line the driveway, pathway, or sidewalk without worry! These little darlings are made of some tough stuff! They survive hell strips along the roadway where the salt sprays, in drought-prone Xeric landscapes and Rock Gardens, and are on many defensible Firewise plans - and Little Grapette looks good doing it!
Try adding Little Grapette to Pollinator and Perennial gardens, adding yummy color to Cottage gardens, and pretty up a foundation planting. Highlight seating areas, birdbaths, outdoor sculptures, your mailbox, and the bases of urns with glowing blooms. Or skirt rings of them around trees, pergolas, and gazebos with colorful greenery at their base.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This hardy perennial is so easy to grow because Little Grapette Daylily isn't a diva! Just give it a sunny spot and well-drained soil and you will be rewarded with showy purple blooms all season. Provide moderate moisture once established and yearly fertilization, there's not much more to it! In the harshest conditions, or even the average garden bed, all plants appreciate a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch to insulate their roots, enrich the soil, and retain moisture.
After the flowers are spent, Deadhead the old flower stems as short as possible down to the ground for an occasional second round of blooms later in summer or fall. In fall after frost, it is recommended you remove the leaves to the ground to avoid diseases and rust issues overwintering and spreading next year. Divide your clumps every 3-5 years to maintain vigor.
- Best Flowering Full Sun
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs Once Established
- Deadhead Regularly, Prune Late Fall & Divide Every 3-5 Years
- Cold Hardy, Xeric, Fire-Wise & Seldom Bothered By Deer
