Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

The Variegated Liriope plant (Liriope muscari 'Variegata') is by far one of the most popular liriope. It is also known as Liriope variegated lily-turf, so is, as its name implies, a variegated border grass! The grassy foliage is edged with creamy yellow to light up your garden.

Also known as Lilyturf, these forms purple-blue blooms, similar to Grape Hyacinths, that appear on top the tidy plants in late summer or early fall. Pollinators adore these longer lasting blooms! The flowers are followed by very dark purple, almost black, berries.

These smaller dwarf plants can remain evergreen in warmer climates. Tuck into container gardens and use in small spaces for space-saving color and fringe. Cottage and pollinator gardens in the shade get a lovely finishing touch.

Planting and Application:

Variegated Liriope works extremely well as a border plant, especially along sidewalks and pathways. Their graceful grassy appearance adds softness and elegance along edges and eases the transition from lawn to garden beds. This Variegated Liriope is excellent for edging and ground covers; when planting, space 12-15" apart. The bright variegated leaves make a super living mulch and plant that highlights partially shaded beds and brings a sense of light into darker plantings.

Use in containers and around water features for graceful elegance! Liriope is one of the best choices for a care-free attractive erosion control in soggy soil. Try a few at the end of the gutters, fringing your patio, encircling a mailbox or flag pole, or in your Rain Garden!
