Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

The Glenleven Linden Tree (Tilia flavescens 'Glenleven') is a hybrid between the American Linden and Little Leaf Linden! It is a fast-growing tree with an extremely straight trunk and a pyramidal form with strong spreading limbs and dense heart-shaped dark green foliage!

The Glenleven is a prolific bloomer, with its small fragrant flowers appearing in late June and lasting well into July. Many bees are attracted to the flowers, and the dried flowers and their light green leaf-like bracts persist on the tree for some time! Homesteaders adore having Lindens on their properties as the bees go crazy for the flowers and make loads of Basswood honey!

This tree has a faster growth rate than other Little Leaf Lindens with a more open canopy that casts great shade before Glenleven's green foliage turns lemony yellow in the fall. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 7, this hybrid Linden grows 40 - 50 feet in height and spreads to a modest 25 - 35 feet wide.

Planting and Application:

Elegant and stately, Glenleven is a gorgeous street and lawn specimen, growing as well in urban conditions and smaller city lots. Casting lush shade without lots of mess, these trees handle pollution and a wide range of conditions, making Linden a prized shade tree for smaller properties!

A tremendously valuable tree for its many usages, the Glenleven Linden would look terrific in your front or side yard. Reduce cooling costs by situating your tree on the southwestern side of your home, or over your seating areas, casting lush shade over your backyard spaces.

  • Heart-Shaped Dark Green Leaves
  • Yellow Blossoms With Green Leaf-Shaped Wings
  • Fragrant & Very Attractive To Pollinators
  • Sturdy Limbs & Smaller Pyramidal Canopy
  • Shade & Street Trees, Specimens & Urban Environments

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Pollution tolerant and pH adaptable, Linden Trees grow best in full sun, at least 6 hours of sun a day. Linden tolerates all kinds of soils, including clay as long as it is well-drained. New trees need regular moisture their first year or so in the ground and become very drought tolerant once established. Provide a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the loot system to protect them from heat and cold, and protect the trunk from mower damage. Prune if needed in the late winter or early spring.

  • Full Sun Deciduous Trees
  • Well-Drained Soil - Tolerates Clay
  • Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
  • Prune When Dormant
  • Appreciates Mulched Beds

Smaller and highly adaptable, the Glenleven Hybrid Linden Tree will shade your world and boost curb appeal without taking up too much space! Order now at Nature Hills!
