Double the delight! The Josee Lilac (Syringa x meyeri 'Josee') is a gorgeous, reblooming Lilac. Planted in borders or as a mass planting, it would be a stunning addition to your yard. Your Josee Lilac is a relatively carefree ornamental shrub with exceptional features. Its delightfully fragrant, lavender-pink flowers erupt into bloom in late spring, and unlike other Lilacs, the show isn't over after the first early spring bloom!

Josee Lilac will surprise northern gardeners with reliable smaller flushes of rebloom all summer and fall, and even southern gardeners may enjoy that second flush of rebloom in autumn! The sweet, heady fragrance of the clustered, tubular blooms will waft across your yard like no other! It's a summer scent so resplendent in its warmth and intensity that you'll wonder how you ever lived without one of these marvelous shrubs in your yard!

Josee Lilac, also unlike some other Lilacs, maintains a diminutive size naturally. At just 4 to 6 feet in height, with an equal spread, it's a perfect way to enjoy the benefits of a Lilac shrub in almost any landscape without sacrificing space. Josee Lilac is quite hardy, with superb mildew resistance throughout arctic USDA growing zones 2 through a surprising zone 8 with reliable blooms in hotter climates than other Lilac varieties! Many won't even flower past zone 7 but Josee happily flowers not once, but twice or maybe even three times a year!

Planting and Application:

Smaller and space-saving, now large and small gardens are sure to find room for their own lovely little flowering shrub! Its dwarf habit would make it a perfect choice for your small garden or even a large patio container! Plant in large protected planters around your seating areas or meditation nooks for privacy and screening, regardless of whether you have garden beds or not!

Wonderful small hedges and property division, create fragrant outdoor rooms, flowering borders to divide your yard into sections, or simply dress up a tired foundation planting! Josee is happy anywhere sunny! Anchor a garden planting, soften the corners of your home and make the neighbors jealous as they watch your Lilac bloom without quitting!

It doesn't require pruning, but a quick trim helps to encourage re-bloom and maintain its compact habit. Birds, bees, Hummingbirds and butterflies will adore this reblooming shrub in your yard, bringing pollinators to your landscape in droves. Any garden becomes a pollinator garden and a cut flower garden with a Lilac in its midst! Cottage gardens of all sizes gain frills and the heart-shaped foliage of Josee adds depth and backdrop greenery to the perennial or Rose garden border!

  • Prolific Dainty Lavender Pink Blooms
  • Reblooming Lilac For Double Enjoyment!
  • Amazing Fragrance & Pollinator Draw
  • Heart-Shaped Lush Foliage & Smaller Dwarf Form

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Lilacs bloom best in full sun and are easily grown in average, medium moist, well-drained soil. Provide moderate moisture consistently all growing season and these shrubs are adaptable to occasional drought when fully established. Mulch helps your plants stay cool and moist, so apply 3-4 inches of arborist bark chips spread out over the roots, but pulled away a few inches from the stems.

Lilacs are disease and deer-resistant so you'll be saved the time and trouble of dealing with costly measures to keep Josee safe from harm when times are desperate. If you live with deer in your area, apply repellent spray on planting day. Deer are hungry and curious, and you want to train them to leave your plants alone. Reapply according to the label.

Air circulation is important for Lilacs, so find a breezy place for them to perform at their best. It's best to avoid low spots or heavily enclosed locations that trap airflow. Fertilize in early spring and again in mid-summer with Dr. Earth Organic and All Purpose Fertilizer, following directions on the package.

Don't miss a single bloom! Follow these easy Pruning steps for the best flowering:

Josee's smaller size means less maintenance, but if you do need to do any trimming, be sure to only prune right after the flowers are done, and don't delay, as Lilacs produce next year's flowers on this year's growth. And this reblooming ornamental will keep blooming throughout the growing season so be aware any pruning you do will cut off future flowers.

Once your Lilac shrubs are 10 years old, you'll want to start a regular schedule of renewal pruning, and removal of suckers (when needed). After the blooms have faded, cut a few of the oldest, thickest branches right down to the ground each year. The younger, thinner branches remain and keep your plant vigorous and healthy. The youngest branches will produce the best bloom for you the following spring. Prune to keep an open interior to reduce the chances of powdery mildew.

  • Thrives in Full Sun
  • Adaptable in Enriched Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Regular Moisture & Mulched Beds
  • Prune After Flowering Only
  • Very Cold Hardy

All in all, there's nothing like a Lilac, and no yard is ever truly complete without one! Josee Lilac provides the usual outstanding assets of a Lilac bush, but adds dwarf size and reblooming nature to the list of attributes. Josee Lilac is a must-have for your yard today! Hurry and order yours today from NatureHills.com!
