Order the award-winning lavender blue like no other! A gardener once said, "A garden will never win it, without a Daylily in it!"
Ok. We said that. But we said it because it's true! Daylilies are one of the most carefree, easygoing, consistently beautiful flowers you can grow. Feel like you have a brown thumb? Try a few Daylilies and you'll look like a pro!
Especially if you try Lavender Blue Baby Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Lavender Blue Baby')! This rich lavender flower won the 2007 Stout Silver Medal Winner. The Stout is the American Hemerocallis Society's highest award and is only attained after years of flower trials. Reblooming when deadheaded, you'll have plenty of blooms for your bouquets.
This well-branched perennial Daylily has a high bud count and is garden hardy. If you like to try home-hybridizing, this is a great parent plant to work with. Lavender Blue Baby is a fabulous lavender flower with a vivid lavender blue watermark eye and a chartreuse-green throat. The color is so unique you won't find it on many other flowers and definitely not on another Daylily. You'll never get this beauty confused with another!
Planting and Application:
Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including polluted city environments, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees. So you know Lavender Blue Baby survives Rock Gardens, the hell strip along the sidewalk, driveway, or road, and hot sunny planters on porches or patios!
But this luscious soft hue adds elegance and grace to Cottage gardens, cut flower borders, mixed perennial gardens, and pollinator beds! Lavender Blue Baby is perfect for containers on hot and sunny porches and patios, balconies, and as colorful front entry décor!
Plant Lavender Blue Baby together in large numbers and groupings for en masse color! They quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful groundcover and on hillsides as erosion control. Daylily are fantastic to create fire-wise defensive zones and brighten xeric landscapes up and the fleshy roots store loads of water.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant Daylilies in full sun for the most blooms. Daylilies will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions. Add a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch over the soil surface for best results! Provide moderate moisture throughout the growing season, but once Daylilies are established, they can tolerate drought and occasionally soggy conditions.
Deadhead to encourage a rebloom that lasts for weeks during the summer until the fall. Once the foliage dies back to the ground in the autumn, trim back the leaves and top with compost or refresh the mulch for the winter. Divide plants every few years to keep the clump size healthy and stress-free.
- Tolerant & Maintenance Free in Full Sun
- Widely Adaptable - Any Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture - Low Once Established
- Prune Late Fall, Deadhead Regularly & Divide Every 3-5 Years
- Seldom Bothered By Deer, Rabbits, Salt & Pests
This is a beautiful plant with a fantastic color combo that is sure to make you happy, but only if you order some from us today! Order the gorgeous Lavender Blue Baby Daylily for your landscape today from Nature Hills!
