Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

How to Use Kiwi Magic™ Hardy Kiwi in the Landscape

Add these vines at the base of a sturdy gazebo, pergola or bare fence. It won't take long for this productive variety to grow and cover it with life, excitement, and delicious edible fruit.

It can be trained into a T-shape with a central leader allowed to thicken into a sturdy trunk. The top is pruned once the preferred height is reached and the resultant cordons spread along a system of high wires...which makes harvesting the dangling berries a total breeze.

Or, simply place sturdy posts 40 inches apart and string wire along them. When grown in this way, your Kiwi Magic can become a useful structural element in your landscape.

Cover a garden arch at the entrance to a sunny side yard. if you must fence in your Victory Garden to protect from deer...this would make a wonderfully resistant choice to turn even the space allotted for the entry gate into a food source.

Pick them just before they are fully ripe and refrigerate until needed for snacks or recipes. Pull out what you need and ripen them up on your countertop or in a sunny window.

Use them in smoothies, as a topping for fruit pizza, or fresh as a healthy snack. They are nicknamed 'Cocktail Kiwis', so serve a bowl at your next get-together as an appetizer.

#ProPlantTips for Care

You'll enjoy the most fruit with a planting site in full sun. However, this hardy vine does fruit in partial shade with at least four hours of sunlight a day.

Add Nature Hills Root Booster while planting for the life-long support of the shallow, fibrous roots. Mulch to a depth of three inches, but pull it back away from the trunk.

Provide even moisture during fruit production. Water consistently in the absence of rainfall.

Prune to shape in late winter when the vines are still dormant. Remove woody vegetative canes that will cast shade on the developing flower buds.

In June, do a second pruning to open and thin the canopy for increased sunlight and air circulation. The goal is a full-sized harvest of delectable fruit on second-year canes.

Prune first-year shoots off the trunk, and remove any suckers that clutter the base of your plants.

Our expert growers have male and female hardy Kiwi grown together for a big jump-start on productivity. Place your order for our expertly grown Kiwi Magic Hardy Kiwi today!
