Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Growing Zones 3-7
A graceful wispy groundcover evergreen, the Scandia Juniper Bush (Juniperus sabina 'Scandia') is a low-growing, semi-spreading evergreen with a fine-textured appearance and dense form that will add its silvery blue-green beauty to the toughest sites in your landscape!
The dense, bright gray-green feathery foliage holds its color over the winter without fading or becoming bronzy, or taking on a purple cast as some Junipers can. The ground-hugging form barely reaches over 1-2 feet tall, but these airy branches can spread up to 4-6 feet wide!
Featuring low, arching branches and extreme adaptability, Scandia is resistant to Juniper blight and handles poor soil conditions and even alkaline soil! Becoming a low-maintenance and moderately fast-growing specimen quickly!
Landscape Application:
The lacy texture and lovely color of Scandia Juniper will create banks and drifts of cover for the bare ground while enhancing all other shrubs and trees that they are planted with! Ideal for use as a low element in mixed shrub borders, as facer plants along older evergreen hedges, or as an edging along your existing foundation hedge!
The wide spread of Scandia makes it ideal for en masse and border plantings, transforming a hard-to-mow hillside into a much safer landscape feature! Let the cascading branches tumble over the tops of retaining walls or tiered slopes while slowing erosion and rainwater runoff.
Scandia can be planted in a pot as a gorgeous spiller and container filler, or find some upscale urns or modern pots and make it the feature planting! These are lovely to try your hand at pruning into Bonsai or Topiary and will enhance any sunny area around your porches, patios, or even balcony gardens!
You'll love the silvery blue greenery all year round, generously spilling over rocks and boulders or adding that special something in Meditation nooks and Asian-inspired gardens! Scandia is very good in cold winter landscapes, as the evergreen hues contrast nicely against the snow - providing an appealing addition to your yard!
- Bright Gray-Green/Blue-Green Foliage
- Color Stays True Through Winter
- Feathery Dense Growing Evergreen
- Low-Growing & Very Wide Spreading Landscape Filler
- Easy Care Massing, Edging, Borders & Erosion Control
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Full sun will result in its best color and densest growth, but it will tolerate part shade to afternoon shade in hotter climates of USDA planting zones 3 to 7. Scandia prefers moist, well-drained soil but thrives in mountainous conditions and anywhere the soil is thin. Becoming a low-maintenance and moderately growing specimen quickly. Prune back wayward branches or give your shrub a light trim in the spring if needed.
- Loves Full Sun
- Any Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs - Tolerates Xeric Sites & Dry Soil
- Prune In Spring If Needed
- Handles Urban Pollution & Deer Resistant
Cold-hardy and with excellent deer resistance, Scandia Groundcover Junipers are resistant to disease, drought, and urban conditions, shrugging off a wide range harsh settings! Order your newest favorite ornamental landscape workhorse today at NatureHills.com.
