This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Do you have an area in need of a good, thick groundcover quickly? Maybe a boring retaining wall or unsightly chainlink fence that requires something prettier? We all have that one area in our yard, or the neighbors, that we'd love to screen from view! It doesn't matter if it's a sunny spot or a shady one, Hall's Japanese Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica 'Halliana') is the plant for the job!
This Japanese Honeysuckle Vine is a hardy, vigorous twining vine that will quickly cover a space as a groundcover, as a climbing plant, or rambling spiller! So incredibly versatile and easy-growing, you'll wonder why you've not thought of using it in your landscape!
In full sun, this lovely Honeysuckle Vine covers itself with extremely fragrant clusters of tube-shaped, pure white flowers that eventually age to a soft yellow. The flowers come on strong in May and last until the first frost! The more sun you give it, the more flowers you'll have!
Pollinators and Hummingbirds will quickly follow! In some growing zones even the songbirds will feast on the black berries that form later in the summer or fall!
Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 through 10, these incredibly adaptable ornamental vines can grow just about anywhere! And they grow fast! Shooting up to 15-30 feet in a blink of an eye, while only spreading 3-6 feet wide. With pruning and training, however, you can create unique rambling, sprawling, low-growing shrubs, or even tree-forms with staking!
Planting and Application:
This is probably the most popular of all the Honeysuckle Vines to use as low-growing living mulch, sprawling container spiller, garden filler, or as groundcovers. Plant on hard-to-mow hillsides or slow erosion on slopes fast with these vigorous Ornamental Vines!
You can let Halls Japanese Honeysuckle grow along fences and walls, but be careful letting it grow on other plants! It grows so thick and so fast it has been known to engulf and suffocate full-grown trees. (In some areas of the country this is considered an invasive plant, so check with your local County Extension Office). Nature Hills employs Plant Sentry™ to ensure we do not ship into sensitive areas too! Simply add your zip code to the Plant Highlights section to see if we can ship Hall's Honeysuckle to you.
Honeysuckle creates a dramatic effect when climbing up strong supports or rambling along your porch railing. These flowers cling to a vigorously growing vine that's vibrant and dramatic as it clambers over your garden trellis and arbors. The curious foliage looks gorgeous climbing over fences and covering unsightly views. Use as backdrops to the Cottage or Rock Garden, or in your cutting garden for scented blooms!
- Vigorous Grower!
- Showy, Highly-Scented White to Yellow Flowers
- Vital Nectar Resource For Pollinators & Hummingbirds
- Incredibly Easy to Grow!
- Fast Screening, Cover, Vertical or Horizontal Landscape Filler
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Hall's Japanese Honeysuckle is super easy to grow and adapts to almost any soil. Full sun brings out the most flowers but full shade and partial shade work great when all you need is an adaptable landscape filler! Any well-drained moist-to-average location with a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch and compost keeps your Vines roots happy. Once established though, this Honeysuckle can be drought-tolerant!
Highly conducive to pruning in the early spring, you can also prune after flowering if your plant is getting into where it shouldn't. This Honeysuckle can be hard pruned or even be mown over in winter if it gets too thick and will come back in the spring like nothing happened. Otherwise a renewal pruning every 3-5 years works great too!
- Full Sun For The Most Blooms!
- Water-Wise & Drought Tolerant Once Established
- Hardy Species - Grows Anywhere
- Easy Care & Low Maintenance!
- Deer Resistant & Urban Environment-Hardy
