To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Having a Siberian Iris plant in your garden is like corralling a kaleidoscope of butterflies. The winged flowers hover over the strap-like leaves and flutter in the wind. Butter and Sugar Siberian Iris (Iris siberica 'Butter and Sugar') is a new look for these hardy garden plants!
Typically in shades of blue or white, the butter-yellow blooms of Iris are incredibly colorful. But Butter and Sugars' creamy yellow and white is a sophisticated and elegant addition. Waving above the tall strappy sword-like foliage, these clumping perennials shine in the sun!
Growing throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 9, these Siberian Iris grow under 3 feet tall and around 2 feet wide. Growing fast, these heavy bloomers pump out the flowers for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, as well as for your bouquets indoors! Iris are seldom bothered by Deer and rabbits and are generally pest and disease-free!
Planting and Application:
The color blends well with all other Siberian Iris and also with many other flowers in your perennial bed - especially yellow, blues, lavender, and creams! Even though you grow them for the amazing flowers, the grassy leaves look green and lush throughout the whole season.
They send thick roots down very deep which makes them great for stabilizing banks and even making them drought-resistant. They don't do well in the desert southwest, though! Plant in Cottage gardens, and mixed Perennial borders. Don't forget to snip some of the strong stems for fabulous floral bouquet additions too!
Siberian Iris will naturalize into their space, although you'll always want more of them. Massing multiple plants grouped together is the best way to use them, although we do have several ideas for you to consider in terms of placement. Use these ideas as jumping-off points for your style.
Butter and Sugar tolerates moist soil, so why not plant it in the splash zone of a fountain, in a Rain Garden, or the edge of a pond? Include special collected rocks and let them shine in this special setting. Try as a 'Thriller' in springtime container gardens. You'll love using these in your cut flower arrangements. #ProPlantTips For Care
These tried-and-true garden staples thrive in full sun in almost any soil, including sandy soil, clay soil or even wet soil by a pond. These perennial Iris do best in well-drained soil with moderate to high moisture is perfect for Siberian Iris and in average garden conditions, add a layer of mulch around the base to conserve moisture and protect the roots.
Deadhead the flowers as they fade and trim back the foliage in the autumn. Every 3-5 years, divide the clumps and rearrange the rhizomes to keep them in tight formation and to prevent them from being buried too deeply, preferring to be planted more shallowly in the ground.

Information About Bare Root Iris
Plant Iris about 15-18 inches apart. Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh-cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different-sized roots.
When planting, make sure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, that it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover them in the spring.
