Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 5-9
Blushingly sinful color, the large lavender-rose flowers of the very showy Sinning Sonoran Sunset Hyssop (Agastache SONORAN SUNSET 'Sinning') add a different sultry shade to the color palette of your landscape! This a new compact selection that is far superior to the species! Enjoy these extended-bloom perennials without sacrificing space!
The foliage smells distinctly like black licorice when crushed, thus its common name, Anise Hyssop. Don't forget to snip a few for your indoor flower bouquets! Once the dark green leaves are dried and steeped, they also make a delicious, refreshing tea - either hot or iced, or infused in water. It's fun to use its edible flowers either fresh or dried to flavor fruit salad, pasta, and salad.
Also known as Hummingbird Mint, this herbaceous perennial is USDA hardy zone 5 through 9! One of the easiest and most rewarding perennials to grow, this award-winning Sinning Sonoran Sunset is a tremendously long bloomer, blooming in profusion throughout the heat of summer into the cooler fall months.
Planting and Application:
Pair this remarkably hued Agastache with similar wand-like flowers like Pink Autumn Sage, Blazing Star Kobold Liatris, and rosy to purple Veronica perennials for a waving pollinator garden that delights you and your bees all growing season long! Pair with sunny Coreopsis, Coneflowers, and Bee Balms for a wildflower garden that invites songbirds and Hummingbirds in droves!
It not only looks terrific, but it's also a mainstay for beneficial pollinators and our precious native bee populations. No Butterfly Garden would be complete without Anise Hyssop! Send migrating Monarchs on their way south with a good nectar resource.
It is useful for adding a spot of color to the garden late in the season when many other plants are finished. Use Hyssop to add color to your late-season herb, perennial, and pollinator gardens, still blooming long after many other plants are finished!
Install your own Cottage Garden or Rock Garden on a front yard berm. Hyssop can be grown along walkways and paths. Allow your guests to brush against the scented foliage to layer in an important fragrance element in your design. Sensory gardens, and Kitchen and Herb gardens are great locations for a fragrant Hyssop!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This variety of Hyssop is more tolerant of cold winters and wet soil. However, in the coldest growing zones, give it a sheltered spot. Plant this handsome low-maintenance clumping perennial where the drying power of the morning sun keeps the scented foliage healthy and mildew-free! Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade, but you will enjoy the most blooms in full sun. Hyssops also tolerate drought and poor soils and are somewhat tolerant of summer heat and humidity.
Tolerant of drier soil and xeric locations once established, but you'll get the best performance with a regular schedule of supplemental water. Although this plant does well in thin, poor soil, we do recommend you protect your investment and encourage healthy roots by using Nature Hills Root Booster at planting time to help your plant uptake nutrients in the soil more efficiently.
If you'd like to restrict the height of this perennial and encourage more branching (and therefore flowers!), pinch back its foliage in spring before the flower buds are formed. Deadhead to prevent seed dispersal and keep the plant neat and tidy. Prune back the stems in late fall, mulch the crown well, and water in well for the winter.
- Loves Full Sun
- Best in Very Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture Once Established
- Fast-Growing!
- Widely Adaptable
- Rarely Damaged by Deer
