Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Big and beautiful Journey's End Hosta (Hosta 'Journey's End') is an impressive sport of the Hosta 'Choo Choo Train' that forms big foliage mounds that can reach 5 to 6-foot wide clumps! The exquisite leaf form and good substance make Journey's End a garden must for filling large areas in two-tone color all growing season long!

The large, yellow-gold leaves have a wavy dark green stripe along the margin and are filled with multiple shades of green. The pointed oval shape of the slightly textured leaves gives this plant added interest!

Pale lavender, nearly white, tubular flowers bloom in June and July and call butterflies and Hummingbirds to come relish in the tall scapes.

Journey's End is a low-care herbaceous perennial and is ideal for shady locations throughout the USDA growing zones 3 to 9, and is one of the most popular for wide-spreading brilliant colors that stay just 1-2 feet in height at maturity!

Planting and Application:

This is a beautiful upright Hosta plant with great colors that light up the shade garden and works great beneath larger shrubs and trees without worry. Journey's End needs lots of space to grow and spread since the ruffled leaves are quite large, measuring 14 inches long by 10 inches wide each! Create leafy skirts and facer plantings along larger hedges or hide the bare, leggy stems of older shrubs.

These are big specimen plants that bulk up a front yard garden or add color to the mixed Perennial border! Create a low anchor planting by your front steps or plant one of these big Hosta right at the base of a flag pole or on either side of a garden bench for a grand show!

  • Large Multi-Hued Light & Dark Green Leaves
  • Wide-Spreading Low-Growing Upright Mounds
  • Pale Lavender Flowers in Summer
  • Pollinator & Hummingbird Friendly Trumpet-Shaped Blooms
  • Big Color & Coverage Throughout Shaded Garden Locations!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant perennials like Journey's End in an area that receives the right amount of light. The leaves need some morning sun to bring the rich color out; too much sun will burn the leaves. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration and drainage for the roots. It is best to keep areas around Hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. So prune back your plants as soon as the frost has killed back the foliage for the year. Top-dress with a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch for an added layer of protection.

  • Full Shade in Hot Climates & Partial Shade In All
  • Moist Rich Locations
  • Well-Drained Soil Locations
  • Prune Back In The Fall
  • Incredibly Easy to Grow!

Go big and bold with the bi-color greenery of the Journey's End Hosta for your landscape! Order yours today from Nature Hills and enjoy easy-to-grow perennials delivered to your doorstep!
