Gold and green hearts, the Dance With Me Hosta (Hosta 'Dance With Me') will put on a fantastic performance in your landscape! It is a medium-sized Hosta and produces lavender flowers in late summer that attract Hummingbirds and a host of beneficial pollinators and butterflies.

The heart-shaped, nearly round leaves are thick and heavily textured and have a pale yellow color with light green margins. Dance with Me will produce long-season appeal and has good resistance to garden pests so you have even less to worry about!

Cold-hardy, humidity and heat-resistant, Dance With Me waltzes throughout a wide swath of USDA planting zones from 3 to 9! Hosta forms tidy fountain-like mounds that are very easy to grow for even the most novice gardener!

Planting and Application:

On their own, Dance With Me beams with its golden yellow leaves in the shade! Bright color like these seem to glow under the canopy of larger trees and dappled shade areas. Plant among the understory with other shade perennials like Coral Bells and Ferns, or in a woodland cottage garden, perennial border, and as edging along walkways and paths! Create groupings, rows, or specimen plantings, or mix with other brightly-hued shade-garden perennials like Astilbe and Coral Bells, and of course other Hosta!

Happy in dappled and understory settings, along shaded foundation plantings, or at the feet of a rock wall or evergreen hedge where these Hostas bask in their shade. Sized great for large garden planters on shaded porches and patios, create bright covered entertainment areas, shaded seating, and balconies.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Also known as Plantain Lily, Hosta leaves need morning sun to bring out the best coloration, but too much sun will burn the leaves. This low-care herbaceous Perennial is ideal for full-shade positions in the hottest of their growing zone range. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 - 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Add a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch to the soil surface, especially in dry shade conditions. Deadhead Hostas as soon as the flowers fade for a tidy look, and in fall when these herbaceous Perennials die back from the frost, so prune the mound clean and remove the dead foliage. Divide your Hosta every 3-5 years to maintain vigor.

  • Full Shade Perennial Also Tolerates Partial Shade
  • Moist Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Low-Maintenance & Remarkably Easy Care
  • Deadhead After Flowering
  • Prune Late Fall
  • Extremely Cold Hardiness & Humidity Tolerant

With its colorful and heavily textured leaves, Dance With Me Hosta will put on an outstanding performance in your shaded landscape! Order yours today at Nature Hills Nursery!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Hostas need full sun or shade?

Hosta does best in full sun in cooler climates but does appreciate afternoon protection from the worst of the summer sun, especially in the hottest of their growing zone range. In the hottest climates, Hosta like partial shade or dappled shade, and some varieties will do great in full shade.

Where do Hostas grow best?

Hosta plants love enriched, well-drained soil that is moderately yet consistently moist throughout the growing season. They appreciate mulched garden beds.

Do Hostas come back every year? Are Hostas a perennial plant?

With vigorous carefree growth, Hostas are herbaceous perennial plants that will return year after year with little maintenance.

What do you do with Hostas in the fall? What do you do with Hostas in the winter?

Hosta leaves will die back after frost but the crowns and roots remain intact and dormant until next spring. Prune back the leaves once they turn brown in the autumn and remove them from the plant's area. For winter protection, add a layer of compost or mulch over the crowns to protect them from the chill.

Do Hosta attract hummingbirds or pollinators?

Hostas are loved by pollinators and hummingbirds! All walks of beneficial pollinators will show up to sip their nectar.
