This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Do you want it all? A perennial with enormous blooms, exotic appeal, and wide climate adaptability? You're not nuts! The Hibiscus Plum Crazy Hardy Hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos 'Plum Crazy') is an amazing Rose Mallow and Rose of Sharon relative that's an absolutely beautiful plant and checks every box for even the wildest of your landscape demands!
Featuring enormous satellites of exotic Tropical Hibscus-like flowers and maple-leaf-like foliage that are both a lovely shade of purple! Plum Crazy has breathtaking 10" plum flowers with purple streaking centers. These large plum flowers nicely complement this shrub's dark purple maple-cut leaves. It has a bushy, upright form but will be smothered in those masses of plum goodness until frost!
Blooming like crazy from mid to late summer, its flowers are adored by butterflies and Hummingbirds alike! Lasting just a day each like Tropical Hibiscus and Rose of Sharon, Hardy Hibiscus presents you with fresh blossoms each day! Super easy-care and thriving equally well in the cold winters of USDA hardiness zones 4, Plum Crazy keeps blooming through the heat and sun of summers up to zone 9!
Planting and Application:
Incredible specimens and focal points on their own, add Plum Crazy to romantic Cottage gardens and Mixed Perennial Gardens for a flouncy colorway all growing season! Their exotic crinkly blooms look equally perfect in poolside seating planters with Banana plants and flamingos as they do around the breakfast nook on your balcony or a Zen-inspired meditation garden!
Growing barely 2 feet wide, add this long-lasting burst of color to Rose gardens, as a facer plant to your foundation planting, or to hide leggy bare stems of larger shrubs, evergreen hedges, or around trees as a frilly purple skirt! The turn into your driveway will not be missed with one of these planted as a mailbox backdrop! Hardy Hibiscus are must-haves for the Pollinator garden too!
Use Plum Crazy as a plum-perfect backdrop, privacy hedge, accent plant, or en mass! The low-maintenance, easy-going nature will astound you! #ProPlantTips for Care:
For best performance, plant Hardy Hibiscus in full sun in cooler climates or afternoon shade/part shade in hotter regions. Moist soils are best all growing season, but this Hardy Hibiscus is a bit drought-tolerant once established and can even tolerate brief soggy conditions too. It grows well in any fertile, well-drained soil, with Nature Hills Root Booster for lifelong symbiotic root support. Top with a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch, and provide regular moisture all growing season long.
Perennial Hibiscus should be cut back to 4-6" from the ground in the early spring while you wait for that new growth to appear. Just be patient - Sometimes these plants are the last to show up for the party each spring. But they are fast-growing and well worth the wait!
- Heat & Cold-Hardy in Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Moderate/Regular Moisture All Summer
- Adaptable to Most Rich Well-Drained Soil Types
- Prune To Ground Late Winter-Early Spring
- Late to Emerge But Fast-Growing!
- Deer & Rabbits Seldom Bother Them
You're not crazy for wanting it all! Order your own Plum Crazy Hardy Hibiscus and feel good about your choice for years to come! Buy enough for your next project as soon as you see these fantastic perennials available at NatureHills.com!
