Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

With a dizzying array of color and texture combinations, Succulent plants are go-to’s for busy modern gardeners, indoors and out! It’s easy to see why! Featuring orderly growth patterns, easy-care, are tough-as-nails, and display a wide range of shapes and sizes!
Known as Hens and Chicks (Sempervivum spp.) because the main rosette of symmetrical mother plant called the ‘Hen’, is surrounded by daughters or ‘Chicks’, that sprout out from the base to form growing clumps!
You’ll receive an assortment of four randomized varieties of Sempervivum, each blending their own unique form and color together beautifully, regardless of which you receive! But with names like Berry Blues, Black Prince, Cherry Frost, Glowing Ember, Hurricane, Green Frog and Viking, just to name a few, the selection will always be incredible!
All develop a variety of bloom shapes and colors once the Hen is more mature, so you’ll always have something new to witness!
How to Use Hens and Chicks In The Landscape
There’s something calming and comforting about orderly growth and fractal-like patterns. Many find these to be perfect in Zen gardens and Meditation nooks where the symmetry brings peace and structure!
Thriving in gravel, rocks & sand, even stone walls crevices, where there is little soil, suits Sempervivum just fine! Tuck into retaining and stone walls where the nooks and crannies allow it to gain easy footholds.
Let ramble and spill out of containers and tumble throughout Rock gardens, Sempervivum loves drier conditions and forgives if you forget to water.
Easy-care houseplants in bright light, try displaying them in Succulent picture frames, Living Walls, and Terrarium or Cloche displays!
Try something unique with Kokedama - the practice of taking the root ball of a plant and surrounding it in a mud ball, which is coated with soft green moss and suspended. Meaning you can have your garden anywhere, even if there is no window ledge!
Sempervivum is impressively tolerant and thrives in full sun and poor soil. A fantastic groundcover, these low-growing clusters accentuate larger plants like Sedum, Yucca and Cacti or Agave.
Turn that hell-strip along the road or by your mailbox into your own succulent garden for an easy-care point of interest!
These cold-hardy, low-growing plants add texture and beauty to the toughest spots in the garden! Beginner and advanced gardeners alike, you’ll easily grow unique accents for your landscape!
#ProPlantTips For Care
Basking in full sun without shrinking, these thrive in very little water once established. Winter hardy in zones 3-8, these Alpine natives grow in any rocky foothold possible!
Very cold hardy and adaptable, water just enough to establish your new plants, but then back off and only provide supplemental watering during extended drought. Plants growing in containers need additional moisture.
Grown Hens and Chicks in low to moderate fertility, even thriving in poor fertility, as long as it is well-drained soil.
In early spring, remove any dead leaves from the cluster, beyond that, these assorted Sempervivum species are incredibly low maintenance!
