Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Well, the Head Over Heels® Blush Hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos 'RutHib1') is ready to make you a believer. With stunning blooms and a hardy nature, this show-stopping hibiscus will make you blush and fall head over heels.

What is the Head Over Heels® Blush Hibiscus's superpower that makes all passersby fall in love? Those blooms, of course! This Hibiscus is unlike any you've seen before! With petals that flare out into a radiant skirt and a blush of pink that rivals the most spectacular tie-dye, these flowers reinvent the meaning of "showy"!

Head Over Heels® Blush Hibiscus blooms are perfectly ruffled like a flamenco dancer's skirt and have deep red eyes that will draw you in and make your knees weak.

Oh! And did we mention these blooms are massive and abundant?

Like other romances that burn the hottest, these blooms only last one day, but don't worry, this Hardy Hibiscus blooms profusely from summer into fall. So, you can rest easy knowing that more stunning blossoms will be waiting for you when you wake! Paired with the Head Over Heels® Passion as an exquisite grouping that complements each other, your landscape will come alive! The blooms say Barbie, but the dark foliage would make an Addams smile!

Planting and Application:

You will have to share these lovely blooms with Hummingbirds and butterflies, though. Pollinators can't resist the striking red eyes of these Hardy Hibiscuses! The color says romantic Cottage garden and mixed perennial border, but the enormous blooms and color combo scream island vacation!

The Head Over Heels® Blush Hibiscus's flowers won't be the only thing you fall in love with when it comes to this astounding plant! Its striking foliage will make your heart flutter as well! Use as a stand-alone specimen or landscape focal point without sacrificing space! The dramatic leaves, with their reddish to burgundy tinge stand out as backdrops, hedges, and in groupings with ease! You'll love these leaves as much as you love their blooms.

Who needs wine with such rich and inviting leaves and enormous satellite-like blooms? You will! Encircle an outdoor seating area or garden room with these low-growing conversation pieces! Dress up the firepit or barbecue with groupings or rows of Hardy Hibiscus to feel you've been transported to somewhere far more exotic sipping on a tasty beverage of your choice!

Add to large planters in any sunny setting - the balcony, the back deck, the poolside deck, or even the front porch to add a tropical flair that shrugs off the winter chill! Just give these planters some extra winter protection in the coldest growing zones. But unlike Tropical Hibiscus, these perennials come back each spring bigger and better without the fuss!

  • Large Pink Petals & Magenta-Red Eyes
  • Hummingbird, Bee, Butterfly & Beneficial Pollinator-Friendly
  • Dramatic Near-Black/Burgundy Foliage
  • Low-Growing Rounded Mounded Form
  • Fantastic Large Planter Thrillers, Backdrops, Seasonal Hedges & Bold Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

So, how do you keep such a blazing and stunning beauty happy? Plant your Head Over Heels® Blush Hibiscus in full sun with soil that doesn't stay wet. This glorious native Rose Mallow relative prefers regular moisture for the best performance. Add some Nature Hills Root Booster at the time of planting and top off with a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch for a lifetime of easy-care beauty!

Gardeners also adore the Head Over Heels® Blush Hibiscus's ability to die back each winter and return in spring with as much vigor and energy as the year before. And this variety also demonstrates a superb level of heat and sun tolerance. In fact, it loves to soak in the rays as it shoots towards the sky!

Perennial Hibiscus should be cut back to 4-6" from the ground in the early spring while you wait for that new growth to appear. Just be patient - Sometimes these plants are the last to show up for the party each spring. But they are fast-growing and well worth the wait!

  • Humidity, Heat & Cold-Hardy
  • Full Sun Perennial Plants
  • Moderate/Regular Moisture All Summer
  • Adaptable to Most Rich Well-Drained Soil Types
  • Prune To Ground Late Winter-Early Spring
  • Late to Emerge But Fast-Growing!
