Goldi Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea') is a fast-growing, brilliant golden green colored ground cover that creates a colorful carpet of yellow flowers and golden greenery. Bright yellow cup-shaped blooms add a ton of interest throughout the summer!
Also known as Moneywort because of its coin-shaped leaves, this chartreuse and bright golden variety is far less invasive than the native species. Like the similar variety, Golden Creeping Jenny, Goldi is a gilded version of Lysimachia.
Summer brings equally brilliant yellow blooms the butterflies are particularly fond of. Blanketing areas with vivid color and choking out weeds, Creeping Jenny can quickly fill an area with brilliant green!
These perennials illuminate the landscape and display great versatility and hardiness! Growing only 6 inches high, these are tolerant of wet or even dry, rocky soils alike!
How to Use Goldi Creeping Jenny In The Landscape
Rock walls can sometimes seem a bit forbidding, but luckily, we have an easy way for you to soften the look quickly! Let ramble throughout your Rock Garden or spill over the edges of your garden beds.
Let Creeping Jenny do its thing in big, sparse yards with plenty of bare spots. Every plant serves a purpose, and this is such a pretty plant! With cute little round leaves and a real pop of chartreuse color and cherry bright-yellow flowers in early summer.
Plant between walking stones and footpaths where this bright perennial can handle light foot traffic. The trailing quality and vivid color make these fantastic container and planter additions, so use this as a fabulous spiller in a container and hanging basket.
Use it in the right location, and you'll just love it. Makes a charming contrast when paired with Sedges, Coral bells and Hosta. These can be vigorous groundcover, creating thick leafy mats and spreading by rooting at any leaf nodes that touch the ground, so careful placement is key.
#ProPlantTips For Care
Doing best in the full sun in the cooler USDA growing zones of 3 through 9, where Lysimachia displays the best coloration. However, it does best in partial shade in the hotter climates where afternoon cover provides relief from the heat.
Creeping Jenny does great in wet or shallow to rocky soil, especially once established. It grows easily in humus-rich sites that is well-drained soil.
However, if you want to use it around a pond, it's advised that you place a physical barrier, such as digging a trench and lining it with a sheet of barrier plastic - just like you would do before planting bamboo.
Goldi Creeping Jenny is a brilliant green and golden yellow landscape gem with a wide range of versatility throughout the garden and patio! Order yours now before this new variety is out of stock at NatureHills.com!
