Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Golden Yellow Crocus Bulb (Crocus 'Golden Yellow'), 15 packs, burst onto the spring scene in radiant color! These larger, cold-resistant blooms are as yellow as the warm spring sun itself! Golden yellow inside and out, they're sweetly scented and nestled among bright green grassy foliage!

Crocus are among the first spring bulbs to emerge after a long, dreary winter, sometimes emerging through the melting snow and in defiance of the iffy spring weather. Early emerging bumblebees and pollinators will find these welcome nectar and pollen sources fast!

Browse NatureHills.com's entire collection of Crocus, or filter your options by growing zone, sun exposure, color and other factors to find the right bulbs for your landscape!

Planting and Application:

These low-growing, clumping perennial bulbs and their grassy foliage are fantastic for early spring edging! Use as fresh spring color in even the smallest places! Containers and planters that are protected from fully freezing create an early-season display! Add a touch of gold throughout perennial beds and among larger plants or shrubs, without worrying the bulbs will interfere with larger roots or vice versa!

Technically known as corms, Crocus bulbs should be planted in early fall before the ground freezes. This can be anywhere from September to November, depending on your growing zone and climate. Plant in a sunny site near a wall or foundation for earlier blooms, or in a shadier location for later emerging bulbs.

  • Fragrant Golden Yellow Blooms
  • Larger Sized Flowers for Pollinators
  • Green Grassy Foliage Clumps
  • Force for Winter Décor
  • Great in Containers, Edging, Around Larger Plants

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Growing zones 3 to 8 can leave Crocus plants in the ground, or even in a large planter. Crocus bulbs require at least six to eight weeks of what's known as 'chill hours' before they will sprout.

  • Full Sun to Part Shade
  • Moderately Moist Enriched Well-Drained Soil
  • Cannot Tolerate Soggy Conditions
  • Cold-Hardy Perennial
  • Plant 2-6 Inches Apart

You can buy Golden Yellow and other Crocus bulbs and spring ephemerals for fall planting, and NatureHills.com ships them at the perfect time for planting in your growing zone, instructions for planting, care, and storage are included!
